    • Signs with Buffalo
The Bills signed Delaney on Thursday, Nick Wojton of BillsWire.com reports.

Advice: With Jordan Poyer having been poached by Miami and Micah Hyde eyeing retirement, Buffalo is understandably scrambling to restock at safety ahead of next season. Delaney recorded 25 tackles (17 solo) and two interceptions with Tampa Bay last year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:10 pm

    • May play with Bills in 2024
Hyde has said he will either sign with Buffalo for 2024 or retire before the start of next season, Nick Sabato of the Niagara Gazette reports.

Advice: Hyde has been considering retiring from football since the Bills were eliminated by the Chiefs from the postseason back in January. Former running mate Jordan Poyer departed for Miami in March, so if Hyde does come back to Buffalo for one more year, he would likely be in line for a significant role. • Gets opportunity in Jacksonville
The Jaguars signed Edmunds to a contract Thursday.

Advice: Edmunds began the 2023 campaign as a starter for Philadelphia before being dealt to the Titans in Week 7, where his opportunities grew more inconsistent. Across nine games with the Titans he handled over 50 percent of defensive snaps on just one occasion, but contributed heavily on special teams. Now, Edmunds likely profiles to head into the 2024 season as a depth player for Jacksonville. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:15 pm

    • Jaguars sign Terrell Edmunds to deal
Jaguars signed S Terrell Edmunds, formerly of the Titans.

Advice: Edmunds was traded from the Eagles to the Titans last season and totaled 48 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and one interception while splitting time with the two teams. The former first-round pick was let go by the Steelers after his rookie contract expired at the end of the 2022 season and is now set to play for his third team in two years. He’ll have a chance to provide added depth to the Jaguars’ secondary but is unlikely to be viewed as a starter at this point. In addition to Edmunds, they also signed cornerback Tre Flowers and linebacker Ty Summers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:40 am

    • Hyde will either re-sign with Bills or retire
Micah Hyde said he will either re-sign with the Bills or retire.

Advice: Hyde is once again mulling retirement but affirms “it’s Bills or retire.” He is reportedly in no rush to make a decision and the team has players in place should Hyde choose to hang up his cleats. He remains a capable coverage defender and was targeted at the position’s eighth-lowest rate last year (6.0%), ranked among safeties with at least 500 coverage snaps. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:56 am

    • Retiring after 2024 season
McLeod (biceps) said Tuesday he plans to retire after the 2024 season, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: McLeod is presumably healthy after a biceps injury limited him to 10 appearances (five starts) in 2023. He signed a one-year deal back in March to return to Cleveland for a second season. The soon-to-be 34-year-old will likely serve as a depth option in the secondary while also handling a role on special teams. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 1:48 pm

    • Gets record-breaking contract
Winfield and the Buccaneers agreed to terms Monday on a four-year, $84.1 million contract Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Advice: Winfield's contract total of $84.1 million is not only the highest figure for a defensive back in NFL history, but Schefter reports that his deal's $45 million guaranteed his also the largest such sum to be earned by a safety. Tampa Bay placed the $17.1 million franchise tag on Winfield back in March, but that transaction was always a placeholder for long-term negotiations. The Buccaneers will pay a high price to keep the All-Pro safety in town, which is proof of Winfield's position as an irreplaceable pillar of the team's secondary. He piled up a career-high 122 tackles (76 solo) across 17 regular-season games in 2023 to go with six sacks, three interceptions, 12 passes defensed, six forced fumbles and four fumbles recovered. • Bucs make Winfield Jr. highest-paid DB in history
Buccaneers signed S Antoine Winfield Jr. to a four-year, $84.1 million contract.

Advice: As ESPN’s Adam Schefter points out, this is the first time a safety has received the honor of being the highest-paid defensive back in league history. Winfield, who was robbed of a Pro Bowl nod in 2023, was named a First-Team All-Pro last season after he totaled 122 tackles, six TFLs, six sacks, and three interceptions. He also led the league with six forced fumbles. A true do-it-all safety, the bill for Winfield came due early after he slipped to the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, meaning the Buccaneers were unable to exercise a fifth-year option on him. Shortly after the 2023 season ended, the Buccaneers franchise-tagged Winfield in hopes of getting a deal done with him later this offseason. He will be 26 at the start of this season and could be due for another sizeable payday if he outplays his new deal. This new deal includes $45 million in guaranteed money and while freeing up roughly $10 million in cap space for the Bucs. Rotoworld Monday, 11:09 am

    • Welcomed to Atlanta
Cruikshank signed a contract with the Falcons on Saturday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: Cruikshank had a tryout in Atlanta and signed with the team less than one day later. He was primarily a practice squad member for the Titans in 2023, but he did suit up for two games. The 29-year-old will now spend the offseason competing for a depth role in the Falcons' secondary. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:17 am
