    • Pat Freiermuth a top performer this offseason
The Athletic’s Mark Kaboly writes, “Nobody performed better and more consistently for four weeks than Pat Freiermuth.”

Advice: Kaboly went on to add, “Freiermuth might not have dropped a pass all month” and reiterated his “instant connection” with Russell Wilson — something he . Playing in an offense that, outside of George Pickens, looks thin at receiver talent, Freiermuth has a chance to be a key contributor for the Steelers in 2024. Add to that the fact that offensive coordinator Arthur Smith targeted his tight ends 173 times from 2021-2023, the third most of any team in the league, and it’s possible this year is setting up to be the best of Freiermuth’s career. Injuries limited him to just 12 games last season, but in 2022, he caught 63 passes for 732 yards and two touchdowns. Currently going as a fringe TE1/TE2 in fantasy drafts, Freiermuth could turn into a solid value for fantasy managers who opt to wait on the position in drafts. Rotoworld Today, 5:44 am

    • Taking part in walkthroughs
Chase has been a limited participant in minicamp this week, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Chase seems to be opting for a "hold-in" rather than a holdout, as he's shown up for mandatory minicamp but is participating only in walkthroughs and team meetings. The star wideout likely doesn't want to risk an injury while his agent is negotiating a contract extension, so it'll be interesting to see what approach he takes if he's unable to strike an agreement on a new deal before the start of training camp in late July. Fellow receiver Tee Higgins, meanwhile, is missing minicamp without accruing fines, as he still hasn't signed his franchise tag and technically isn't under contract. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:14 am

    • Not holding out
Chase is present Tuesday for the start of mandatory minicamp, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Advice: Chase's presence for the first mandatory practice of the offseason confirms he's not holding out after skipping voluntary OTAs throughout May. The Bengals picked up his fifth-year option in March, keeping Chase under contract through 2025. Tee Higgins, on the other hand, still hasn't signed his franchise tag and thus technically isn't under contract, allowing him to miss minicamp without being fined. Both wide receivers want contract extensions, and Chase's talent may make him the priority even though Higgins can become a free agent sooner. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 6:30 am

    • Ja’Marr Chase shows up for mandatory minicamp
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Ja’Marr Chase is in attendance at Bengals minicamp.

Advice: Chase skipped the team’s OTAs as he pushes for a new contract with the Bengals. Chase, 24, is entering his fourth NFL season. The team picked up his fifth year contract option. It’s only a matter of time before the two sides come to a long-term agreement that will keep chase in Cincinnati for years to come. Chase in 2023 managed 100 receptions and over 1,200 yards despite Joe Burrow missing much of the year with lingering injuries. His 2023 receiving success rate (57 percent) was the highest of his NFL career. Rotoworld Tuesday, 5:32 am
