    • Sean McVay: Blake Corum has ā€˜really stood outā€™
Rams head coach Sean McVay said RB Blake Corum has ā€œreally stood outā€ in offseason practices.

Advice: Corum, the 83rd overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, has drawn consistent praise from LA coaches over the past couple months as incumbent starter Kyren Williams deals with a lingering foot injury that has cost him all of OTAs and minicamp. ā€œOn the offensive side, Iā€™ve been pleased with a lot of guys but Blake Corum has really stood out,ā€ McVay said. ā€œMature beyond his years. I love the way that he handles himself. I love even more how when thereā€™s been a couple of things that didnā€™t go the way we wanted, how he responded the next play. The mental toughness that you see from him.ā€ It would be something of an upset if Corum didnā€™t at least split backfield work with Williams to start the regular season ā€” assuming Williams is fully recovered. Williams remains one of the riskiest picks in all of fantasy football. Rotoworld Friday, 9:40 am

    • Already making good impression
Coach Sean McVay said Thursday in an OTAs recap video that Corum "has really stood out" early this offseason, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.

Advice: Corum, a rookie third-round pick, had a chance to handle extra reps during OTAs while starter Kyren Williams dealt with a foot injury, though Los Angeles' backfield was fully healthy for June minicamp. McVay praised Corum's "mental toughness" and "the way that he handles himself," and said that the rookie will "definitely" have an opportunity to contribute as a pass catcher. Williams still appears entrenched as the clear top option in the Rams' backfield, but if Corum can keep his momentum up throughout training camp, he could have an opportunity to push for a notable role early in his career. • Logging impressive offseason
Coach Mike McCarthy said Wednesday that Ferguson is "having a great offseason" and praised the tight end's "consistency and his passion," Patrik Walker of the Cowboys' official site reports.

Advice: Ferguson, a 2022 fourth-round pick, enjoyed a real breakout season as Dallas' top tight end last season, with a 71-761-5 receiving line and Pro Bowl honors. The third-year pro is now reportedly improving at multiple facets of the game, and he could be positioned to take the next step forward as a fantasy producer. Dak Prescott's clear top target will be CeeDee Lamb, with Brandin Cooks working as the No. 2 wideout, but at this stage 2023 second-rounder Luke Schoonmaker (hamstring) doesn't look like a true threat to Ferguson's workload. • Commanders trying two-back looks in minicamp
Washington Postā€™s Sam Fortier reports Commanders OC Kliff Kingsbury is using two-back sets in minicamp.

Advice: Kingsbury seems to be experimenting with using Brian Robinson and Austin Ekeler in two-back sets out of the backfield. Both backs have different builds and skillsets and can be used in complementary ways. Robinson profiles more as the downhill runner while Ekeler is the pass-catcher. As it stands, Robinson is likely to be the lead back over Ekeler. If Kingsbury breaks out the two-back sets during the season, both backs will be on the field and have utility as pass-catchers for rookie Jayden Daniels. Rotoworld Wednesday, 5:03 pm

    • Vikings ā€˜have two true No. 1 running backsā€™
Vikings OL Harrison Phillips said the Vikings ā€œhave two true No. 1 running backsā€ in Aaron Jones and Ty Chandler.

Advice: Phillips said he thinks the Vikings will have ā€œa one-two punchā€ at running back this season, with Jones and Chandler both having a chance to make an impact. Chandler, the incumbent in the backfield, rushed 94 times for 419 yards and three touchdowns in the Vikingsā€™ final eight regular season games while adding another 16 receptions for 116 scoreless yards. Jones, who the team acquired earlier this offseason following his release by the Packers, is the presumed RB1 but is entering his age-29 season and is coming off a year in which he was limited to 11 games due to hamstring injuries. Both backs bring a three-down skillset to the backfield and would have fringe RB1 upside if the other were ever to miss time. For now, it sounds like Chandler could have some stand-alone value, making him a potential smash in the later rounds of fantasy drafts. Rotoworld Jun 7, 11:28 am
