    • Inks long-term deal
The Jaguars and Lawrence agreed to terms on a five-year, $275 million contract extension Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Advice: Lawrence's new deal includes $200 million guaranteed, including $142 million at signing, and the average annual value of $55 million matches Joe Burrow's NFL-leading mark. After Jacksonville extended the fifth-year opinion on Lawrence's rookie contract this spring, it was only a matter of time before the two sides reached an agreement to keep the first overall pick in the 2021 Draft in Duval for the foreseeable future. Through three pro campaigns, he's surpassed 4,000 yards twice while accumulating a 58:39 TD:INT in 50 regular-season games. Rotowire.com Thursday, 4:08 pm

    • Jags and Lawrence agree on $275M extension
Jaguars signed QB Trevor Lawrence to a five-year, $275 million contract extension.

Advice: Lawrence gets $200 million in guaranteed money with this deal, with $142 million guaranteed at signing. His $55 million AAV ties Joe Burrow for the highest of any player in the league. Itā€™s a steep but not surprising price to pay for Lawrence, who was drafted No. 1 overall by the Jaguars in 2021. Lawrence has thrown for 11,770 yards, 58 touchdowns, and 39 interceptions in 50 career games and has led his team to a 17-16 record in two years under current head coach Doug Pederson. Lawrence will play under the terms of his rookie deal in 2024 and under a fifth-year option in 2025, meaning the base salary for his new deal wonā€™t kick in until 2026. Rotoworld Thursday, 4:01 pm

    • Misses final day of minicamp
Cooper didn't report to June minicamp, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Advice: With his absence confirmed for a third straight day, Cooper can be fined slightly more than $100,000. He's in the final year of his contract and looking for a new deal, following a 2023 season in which he had career highs for receiving yards (1,250) and yards per catch (17.4) despite missing two games and playing with four different quarterbacks. He struggled to produce with PJ Walker and especially Dorian Thompson-Robinson, but Cooper reached 90 yards in four of Deshaun Watson's six starts and averaged 121.3 yards in the four games he played with Joe Flacco. Cooper will turn 30 next week and remains crucial to the Cleveland offense even after an offseason trade for Jerry Jeudy. Rotowire.com Thursday, 8:52 am

    • Amari Cooper a no-show at day two of minicamp
Amari Cooper is not in attendance during the second day of Browns minicamp.

Advice: Set to earn $23 million in the final year of his contract, Cooper appears to be holding out for a long-term deal with the Browns. Heā€™s been superb during his two years with the team. Cooper had 72 receptions for 1,250 yards and five touchdowns last season and has gone for 1,100-plus yards in each of his first two seasons with the Browns. Cooper, soon to be 30, will likely work things out with the team before training camp. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:40 am

    • Kelce on retirement: ā€˜keep going until the wheels fall offā€™
The Athleticā€™s Nate Taylor reports Travis Kelce plans to play through two-year contract.

Advice: The veteran tight who will turn 35 this season, understands the questions about when heā€™ll hang up the cleats, but says he ā€œreally canā€™t put a timeframeā€ on it. Kelce also acknowledged the opportunities that he has outside of football, but still enjoys coming to work. While heā€™s shown slight signs of decline, his chemistry with Patrick Mahomes is unmatched and as long heā€™s playing, Kelce is a threat. He still has the competitive fire thatā€™ll keep him amongst the top tight ends in football. Rotoworld Tuesday, 11:02 am

    • Appears to be holding out
Cooper isn't present Tuesday for the start of mandatory minicamp, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Advice: Cooper is in the final year of his contract and presumably wants an extension. The Browns can fine him while he's absent, and it's possible this stretches into training camp if the wideout doesn't have a new contract by late July. Cooper had career highs for receiving yards (1,250) and yards per catch (17.4) last season, buoyed by a 25-485-3 receiving line in the four games he played with Joe Flacco as Cleveland's starting QB. Cooper also did well with Deshaun Watson, reaching 90 yards in four of the six full games Watson played, whereas Cleveland's other main pass catchers -- namely TE David Njoku and WR Elijah Moore -- struggled to get anything going with the supposed franchise QB. The Browns added Jerry Jeudy this offseason, likely pushing Moore back to the No. 3 role and giving Cooper more competition for targets. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 8:47 am

Amari Cooper did not report to Browns minicamp.

Advice: Cooper is in the final year of his contract and is set to earn $23 million in 2024. The veteran receiver totaled 72 receptions for 1,250 yards and five touchdowns last season and has gone for 1,100-plus yards in each of his first two seasons with the Browns. In search of a new deal before the start of the season, Cooper, who turns 30 later this month, is subject to fines for every day he misses mandatory minicamp. Rotoworld Tuesday, 8:30 am

    • Austin Ekeler returning kicks at WAS minicamp
Austin Ekeler was seen returning kicks during Commanders minicamp.

Advice: Ekeler hasnā€™t returned kicks since 2017 with the Chargers, when he had five returns for 85 yards. It would be surprising if the Commanders used Ekeler as a kick returner as he enters his age-29 season, though the leagueā€™s new kickoff rules could lead to teams using more important players on returns in 2024 and beyond. Ekelerā€™s return usage will be something to monitor in minicamp and during the teamā€™s training camp next month. Heā€™s expected to split backfield duties with Brian Robinson.
