• Gets let go
Laird was waived by the Buccaneers on Wednesday, Brianna Dix of the team's official site reports.

Advice: Laird signed a reserve/future contract with the team in January after spending last season on their practice squad. The 28-year-old hasn't seen NFL action since 2021 when he was with the Dolphins, but he'll work to earn the opportunity to suit up elsewhere now in 2024. Rotowire.com Today, 2:58 pm

  • Participating in OTAs
Williams (knee) participated in Atlanta's OTAs on Tuesday, Tori McElhaney of the team's official site reports.

Advice: Williams missed all of the Falcons' 2023 campaign due to a knee injury, but it now seems as if he's moved past the issue. Since entering the NFL in 2021, Williams has primarily been a return man, accumulating 445 punt return yards and 803 kick return yards across two seasons. Now that Williams has returned to the field, he's expected to compete for Atlanta's top punt and kick returner spot once again throughout the offseason. Rotowire.com Today, 2:02 pm

  • Bigger role in 2024?
McIntosh (thumb) has the opportunity to compete with DeeJay Dallas for Seattle's third-down running back role this offseason, Nick Lee of Sports Illustrated reports.

Advice: McIntosh dealt with a plethora of injuries during his rookie season, including a thumb issue that held him out of the Seahawks' 2023 season finale against the Cardinals, but it now seems as if he's back to full health. The 2023 third-round pick appeared in just three games last year, failing to record a single carry while playing 13 total snaps (all on special teams). Now that McIntosh is healthy ahead of Seattle's offseason programs, he's got a chance to become the Seahawks' primary third-down back, playing behind Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet. • Keaton Mitchell (knee) won’t be ready by Week 1
Ravens coach John Harbaugh said RB Keaton Mitchell (knee) will begin jogging next week but won’t be ready by Week 1.

Advice: The news isn’t a surprise as Mitchell suffered a torn ACL in Week 15 last year. Harbaugh noted that the Ravens are still optimistic about Mitchell returning at some point during the season. Mitchell was an explosive change-of-pace option but doesn’t have the size to shoulder the load. The Ravens brought in Derrick Henry for that role this offseason. Mitchell could return midseason and post FLEX-worthy fantasy numbers, but he’s a hard player to stash without an IR spot. Rotoworld Today, 1:37 pm

  • Won't be ready for training camp
Coach John Harbaugh said Wednesday that Mitchell (knee) won't be ready for the start of training camp but is "on schedule" in his recovery from an ACL tear sustained Week 15 last season, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Advice: Harbaugh said Mitchell isn't expected to be ready until "sometime during the season." That's unsurprising, given the timing of Mitchell's injury, but fantasy managers should brace for the likely eventuality that the second-year pro isn't available Week 1, or at least not at full strength. Derrick Henry will work as Baltimore's clear No. 1 backfield option, but given that he's now reached the age-30 mark, the team could want to keep him from a league-leading workload, such as he's carried in the past. That could open up opportunities for Mitchell, once healthy, but to begin the regular season it will likely be Justice Hill and rookie fifth-rounder Rasheen Ali (biceps) complementing Henry. • Bijan Robinson (ankle) should practice in June
Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said Bijan Robinson (ankle) should be able to participate in the team’s mandatory minicamp in June.

Advice: Robinson has not participated in Falcons OTAs this week while recovering from an ankle injury. “I’m hoping — really, really positive about it as well, too — veteran minicamp, we’ll get a chance to see something, some movements, things of that nature,” Morris said Tuesday. “But he’s progressing well. He’s been out there. He’s in great spirits.” Coming off a rookie campaign with nearly 1,500 total yards and eight touchdowns, Robinson should function as the centerpiece of Atlanta’s offense in 2024.

  • Shanahan ‘not concerned’ about CMC’s OTA absence
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said he’s “not too concerned” about Christian McCaffrey’s absence at OTAs.

Advice: Shanahan emphasized that attendance at the spring practices were voluntary, and that he trusts McCaffrey’s offseason work ethic. McCaffrey’s absence is a bit surprising considering he attended and practiced in full at every OTA session during the 2023 offseason. CMC, 28, is signed through the 2025 season before a void year in 2026. The 2023 NFL rushing champ and the lynchpin of the Niners offense is slated to make $14.1 million this year. • Josh Jacobs dealing with hamstring injury
The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman reports Packers RB Josh Jacobs is dealing with a hamstring issue in OTAs.

Advice: Jacobs is working through a hamstring issue as the Packers’ OTAs are underway. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur does not expect him to be sidelined long as Jacobs was limited in Tuesday’s workouts. Soft tissue injuries can linger but are not all that uncommon getting back into football workouts in the offseason. Jacobs also dealt with a quad strain that kept him out for a few games at the end of last season. No cause for concern with the hamstring issue just yet, but something to eye for Packers OTAs. • Foot injury downplayed
Williams, who is dealing with a foot injury that he sustained while training this spring, per Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register, won't take part in the Rams' offseason program, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: That said, Barshop adds that coach Sean McVay has downplayed Williams' foot issue, noting that it's "nothing to worry about. He'll be ready to go for training camp." As the coming season approaches, the 2022 fifth-rounder remains atop the Rams' RB depth chart, with rookie third-rounder Blake Corum, Boston Scott, Ronnie Rivers and Zach Evans providing the team with backfield depth. Of the aforementioned backups, Corum could be the most notable threat to the 2024 workload of the 5-foot-9, 194-pound Williams. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:56 pm
