    • Drake Maye opens Patriots OTAs as QB3 behind Zappe
Patriots reporter Doug Kyed said Drake Maye worked behind Jacoby Brissett and Bailey Zappe on the first day of OTAs.

Advice: We shouldn’t read too much into this, but it is worth noting where the rookie currently stands in the pecking order. The Patriots don’t appear eager to rush Maye into anything he’s not comfortable with — especially this early into the offseason, allowing him to work behind Zappe on the first day of OTAs. Kyed also noted earlier that head coach Jerrod Mayo is impressed with the work Maye has put in since joining the team, saying that Maye has been spotted working by himself in the quarterback room to learn the offense. We wouldn’t expect Maye’s status as the QB3 to carry over into the regular season, but at least we know where he stands at this point in the offseason. Rotoworld Today, 10:54 am

    • Present for start of OTAs
Tagovailoa is present for the start of OTAs on Monday, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Tagovailoa was recently reported to have missed a notable amount of Miami's offseason work amid ongoing talks about a contract extension, but the 26-year-old quarterback is in the building to kick off the start of OTAs. It appears that both Tagovailoa and the Dolphins' organization are confident that an extension will get done prior to the start of the regular season, so unless things stall on that front there shouldn't be too many concerns about the quarterback's offseason participation. Currently, Tagovailoa is slated to play out the 2024 campaign on his fifth-year option. He played a full 17 regular-season games last year for the first time in his career, achieving new highs with 4,624 passing yards, 29 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Rotowire.com Today, 6:18 am

    • Russini: Tua Tagovailoa reports to Dolphins OTAs
The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports Tua Tagovailoa reported to Dolphins OTAs.

Advice: Last week, it was reported that it was “unclear” whether Tagovailoa would report to OTAs, as he and the Dolphins are in the midst of contract negotiations. Tagovailoa from the Dolphins earlier this offseason, and with Jared Goff fresh off the heels of signing a new deal that will net him more than $50 million a year, a new precedent has been established for Tagovailoa, who could be seeking top dollar on a market that’s been very kind to quarterbacks in recent offseasons. Tagovailoa has thrown for 25-plus touchdowns in back-to-back seasons and led the Dolphins to a 19-11 record in his starts over that span. He’ll almost certainly get the deal he’s looking for at some point, even if the on-field performance hasn’t quite matched the high-end money coming his way. Rotoworld Today, 5:51 am

    • Cousins on tampering: ‘Not a whole lot there’
When asked about the league’s investigation into the Falcons violating the league’s tampering policy, Kirk Cousins said, “There’s not a whole lot there.”

Advice: It was Cousins’ answers at his introductory press conference that more or less spurred the investigation, as the veteran quarterback suggested on numerous occasions that he had impermissible contact with several members of the organization prior to the start of the new league year. He also said he played a role in recruiting Darnell Mooney by calling him prior to the official start of free agency. The league’s investigation is still ongoing, but the Falcons run the risk of losing draft picks if any violations are found. It’s hard to imagine the league lacking evidence of tampering, given how plainly Cousins laid out everything, but whether or not what they have is considered severe enough to warrant disciplinary actions won’t be known until the conclusion of the investigation. • Has skipped some offseason work
Tagovailoa has reportedly missed most of Miami's team activities this offseason while negotiations on a potential contract extension continue, Alain Poupart of SI.com reports.

Advice: Coach Mike McDaniel and GM Chris Grier have both vocally supported the idea of Tagovailoa remaining with the Dolphins on a long-term basis and an extension being penned this offseason; however, it sounds like until that's official, the team may not have the quarterback's full participation. That said, Tagovailoa was confirmedly a participant in part of Miami's offseason workouts back in April, with Poupart noting the team released videos of him throwing on multiple different days. There are no signs Tagovailoa would consider skipping June's mandatory minicamp, and the quarterback has downplayed concerns about contract negotiations. As things currently stand, Tagovailoa is set to play out the 2024 season under the fifth-year option on his rookie contract. Rotowire.com Friday, 7:01 am

    • ‘Unclear’ if Tua participates in voluntary OTAs
CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones believes it’s “unclear” if Tua Tagovailoa will participate in voluntary OTAs.

Advice: Jones said Tua, lobbying for a long-term deal with the Dolphins, has been “absent for the large majority of voluntary offseason work since the Dolphins reported back April 15" and might not join his teammates at voluntary workouts starting Monday. Tagovailoa said in April that he would not miss any offseason workouts while working out a contract with the team. Dolphins general manager Chris Grier has said he wants to sign Tua to a longer term deal — despite Tua’s shortcomings in an otherwise productive Miami offense. This situation will likely be resolved in the coming weeks. If it isn’t, Tagovailoa could face daily fines of $40,000 if he sits out some or all of training camp. The team could save those fines if it sees fit, Jones said. Rotoworld Friday, 6:17 am

    • Ravens face Chargers on MNF for ‘HarBowl’ Week 12
The Chargers will host the Ravens on Monday Night Football in Week 12.

Advice: The Monday Night matchup for Week 12 will feature the Harbaugh brothers facing off for the first time since Jim Harbaugh signed on to coach the Chargers this offseason. Jim and John famously coached against each other in Super Bowl XLVII, with John and the Ravens coming out on top over Jim and the 49ers. This Chargers team has a heavy Ravens influence, with former Ravens exec Joe Hortiz now the Chargers’ general manager. Reigning MVP Lamar Jackson will look to keep the Ravens contending while Justin Herbert will quarterback a changed Chargers offense in the latest iteration of the “HarBowl”. • Cowboys hosting Giants on Thanksgiving
Cowboys will host the Giants on Thanksgiving day.

Advice: The Cowboys will play their annual Thanksgiving game against the NFC East rival Giants. Jerry Jones wanted to go “all in” on the Cowboys this season, and they are running it back with head coach Mike McCarthy and quarterback Dak Prescott leading the team. Ezekiel Elliott will return to the team, putting the Salvation Army kettle on high alert. Meanwhile, the Giants are expected to start Daniel Jones after a frustrating 2023. Malik Nabers will be an exciting receiver to watch, but it will be difficult to trust any other Giant for fantasy. Fantasy managers will be eyeing Prescott and CeeDee Lamb the most this Thanksgiving. • Panthers to play Giants in Germany
Panthers to face Giants in Munich, Germany for Week 10.

Advice: The NFL returns to Germany this season, with the Panthers and Giants playing in Munich for Week 10. Bryce Young will experience his first international game while the Giants, presumably starting Daniel Jones, will play their fourth ever international game. Both teams were among the worst in the league last season with frustrating 2023 campaigns. The Panthers will look to build upon Young and other highly-selected offensive weapons like Xavier Legette and Jonathon Brooks. The Giants hope to get a better return on their investment in Daniel Jones in this lone Germany matchup. Rotoworld Wednesday, 5:21 pm
