    • Lands four-year extension
      Stevenson has agreed to a four-year extension with the Patriots, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

      Advice: Per Schefter, Stevenson's deal is for $36 million, of which $17 million is reportedly guaranteed. The move to extend the 2021 fourth-rounder beyond his current pact solidifies the Patriots backfield ahead of Jerod Mayo's first season as head coach, and with the team transitioning at the QB position, look for Stevenson and fellow RB Antonio Gibson to be key drivers of New England's offense in 2024. Over the course of 12 regular-season games last season, Stevenson logged 156 carries for 619 yards and four touchdowns to go along with 38 catches for 238 yards on 51 targets. As training camp approaches, the 26-year-old has moved past the ankle issue that cost him time down the stretch in 2023, with Stevenson's new contract terms reflecting his continued status as his team's lead back.     • Stevenson gets $36M extension from Patriots
      Patriots signed RB Rhamondre Stevenson to a four-year, $36 million contract extension.

      Advice: Stevenson said earlier this month that he thought he and the Patriots were “pretty close” to an extension. Now, the 26-year-old back is under contract through the 2028 season and set to lead the Patriots’ backfield under a new regime for the foreseeable future. Stevenson has rushed for 2,265 yards and 14 touchdowns in his three seasons with the team, adding another 121 catches for 782 yards and one touchdown. He averaged a career-worst 4.4 yards per touch last season, but the team is hoping for a much-improved offense with Mac Jones now gone and offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt taking over. Stevenson could be challenged by Antonio Gibson for third-down touches this season but still profiles as an RB2 in PPR leagues. The Patriots are giving Stevenson $17 million in fully guaranteed money on this deal, which also includes an $8 million signing bonus and $12 million worth of incentives.     • Morris: Get ball to Bijan ‘as much as you can’
      Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said the team would give the ball to Bijan Robinson as much as possible in 2024.

      Advice: Morris, like other Atlanta coaches this offseason, emphasized Robinson as a centerpiece of the team’s new offense under OC Zac Robinson. “In as simple of a form as you can possibly make it,” Morris said, “it’s ‘get the ball to Bijan as much as you can in as many ideal situations that you possibly can.’” It’s clear the new Falcons regime will do everything it can to feed Robinson, who totaled 1,463 yards from scrimmage and eight touchdowns as a rookie. Unlike former head coach Arthur Smith, Morris’ staff seems intent on seeing what they have in Robinson. Tyler Allgeier likely won’t have much of a role in the Falcons backfield unless Robinson misses time in 2024.

    • SEA HC wants to make DK Metcalf a ‘moving target’
      Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said the team wants to make DK Metcalf a “moving target” in 2024.

      Advice: Macdonald told NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero he wants to get the ball to Metcalf “a lot” this season and said new offensive coordinator Ryan Grub would use Metcalf across the formation. “He’s a big, imposing, fast, powerful receiver,” Macdonald said, adding the team wants to ensure opposing defenses have to “account for [Metcalf] at all times but it’s gonna be hard to find him.” Metcalf ran 84 percent of his pass routes from the boundary in 2023, in line with his career rate. He saw only 12 targets from the slot last season. More creative usage for Metcalf — including, presumably, more slot work — could be a boost to his fantasy prospects in a Seattle offense that could be surprisingly pass heavy under Grubb, for former OC at the University of Washington.
