    • Wilson ‘clearly’ playing better than Fields
The Athletic’s Mike DeFabo says Russell Wilson “has clearly been the better quarterback” during the Steelers’ offseason.

Advice: DeFabo added that there doesn’t be much of a competition at quarterback at this time, noting that Wilson “has taken the overwhelming majority of meaningful reps, including on the final day of minicamp, when almost every veteran took off.” He also said Fields “doesn’t often shine in seven-on-seven situations,” which isn’t a great endorsement for him with training camp a month away. Both Wilson and Fields are in career-rebuilding mode after flaming out at their previous stops. Neither is going particularly high in fantasy drafts, with Wilson currently going outside of the top 24 in most best ball drafts. Fields’ rushing ability makes him a potentially high-upside fantasy stash whenever he gets a chance to start, but it sounds like Wilson has a good grip on the job heading into training camp. • Working to regain lost weight
Kittle (core muscle) recently told the Bussin' With The Boys podcast that he lost nearly 30 pounds at the beginning of the offseason while rehabbing injuries.

Advice: Kittle had core muscle surgery after the Super Bowl and was also recovering from shoulder and rib injuries at the time -- a combination that prevented him from doing both upper- and lower-body weightlifting for about a month. He said he's "almost back to 100 percent" and has regained most of the lost weight, but he still wants to add about 10 more pounds before the start of the regular season. It sounds like Kittle will be ready for the beginning of training camp in late July. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:02 am

    • Beat: Jeudy could open as Browns’ primary slot WR
The Athletic’s Zac Jackson writes, “It’s my belief that the Browns plan to open the season with Jeudy in the slot and Amari Cooper and Cedric Tillman out wide.”

Advice: The Browns went out and acquired Jeudy from the Broncos earlier this offseason and signed him to a three-year extension soon after. Jeudy has lined up in the slot on 52.5 percent of his snaps during his career and played from the slot on 59.1 percent of his snaps last season. It also sounds like Tillman, a second-year receiver, could be in line for significant snaps this season, but the speedster was targeted on just 11.7 percent of his 358 routes last season. Cooper, Jeudy, and Tillman serving as the Browns’ primary receivers in 11 personnel could leave Elijah Moore on the outside looking in with regards to targets and snaps after he went for 59-640-2 in his first year with the Browns. • Signs with hometown team
Teamer is slated to sign a one-year contract with the Saints on Thursday, Matthew Paras of NOLA.com reports.

Advice: Teamer, a New Orleans native and former Tulane standout, spent the last three seasons in Las Vegas but attended the Saints' rookie minicamp and mandatory minicamp. He was waived by the Raiders back in November and also arrested for a DUI. Now, Teamer faces an opportunity to compete for a depth role at safety, where his ability to contribute on special teams could also come in handy. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:59 am

    • Finds chance in Jacksonville
Mims is slated to sign with the Jaguars, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Advice: Mims was waived by Pittsburgh on Tuesday, but he's quickly found a new opportunity to compete. He logged time on the Steelers practice squad last season, though he never suited up for a game with the team. The 2020 second-round pick spent the first three seasons of his NFL career with the Jets, before being traded to the Lions during the 2023 offseason, then failing to make Detroit's roster. • Saints sign former Raider Roderic Teamer
Saints signed S Roderic Teamer, formerly of the Raiders.

Advice: Teamer was released by the Raiders last season following an arrest for a DUI. Teamer has played primarily on special teams during his career, and played his college football at Tulane. It’s a return home for Teamer, who will have a chance to compete for a spot on the 53-man roster this offseason. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:34 am

    • Jaguars take flier on Steelers castoff Denzel Mims
Jaguars signed WR Denzel Mims, formerly of the Steelers.

Advice: Mims was released by the Steelers earlier this week and will now have a chance to compete for a spot on the Jaguars’ roster this offseason. The former second-round pick hasn’t played a regular-season snap since 2022 and is now set to join his fourth team over that span. He’ll face an uphill battle to make a Jaguars roster that returns Christian Kirk and also added Gabe Davis, Devin Duvernay, and Brian Thomas Jr. this offseason. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:25 am

    • Dropped by Green Bay
The Packers waived Podlesny on Wednesday.

Advice: Podlesny agreed to a reserve/future contract with the Packers in January after going undrafted last spring, but the team has now decided to part ways with the 24-year-old kicker. With Podlesny getting waived, Green Bay's kicking competition will be between Greg Joseph and Anders Carlson, barring any outside additions prior to training camp. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 2:11 pm

    • George Kittle lost 30 pounds after core surgery
George Kittle said he lost around 30 pounds after undergoing core muscle surgery this offseason.

Advice: Kittle in a podcast appearance said he was well below his 250-pound playing weight following his surgery. He sustained the core injury around midseason last year and played through it during the Niners’ Super Bowl run. “I couldn’t lift,” Kittle said. “I couldn’t do any upper body because of my shoulder and my rib, and I couldn’t do lower [body] because of my core surgery. … I didn’t lift from the Super Bowl until like almost mid-March. ... I went a month without doing anything, I wasn’t supposed to do anything.” Kittle, 30, plans to work this summer to gain back the weight he lost ahead of his eighth pro season. Last year, Kittle was tenth among tight ends in receptions (65) and first in receiving yards (1,023). Rotoworld Wednesday, 12:50 pm
