    • Past thumb injury
Wiley (thumb) was spotted working out during Wednesday's mandatory minicamp session, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports.

Advice: Wiley injured his thumb during this year's Senior Bowl, but with his participation in Washington's mandatory minicamp, it seems as if he's moved past the issue. The 23-year-old running back out of Arizona was picked up by the Commanders after going undrafted, and he likely has an outside chance at making the team's final roster. • Returns to practice
McClellan (foot) participated in practice Tuesday, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports.

Advice: McClellan, a rookie sixth-round pick, missed roughly one month of spring activities due to a foot issue but now appears back to normal form. In that span, McClellan missed rookie minicamp and OTAs, so he may have some catching up to do in Atlanta's backfield, where Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier are entrenched atop the depth chart. • Reaches injury settlement
Brightwell (hamstring) was waived from injured reserve by the Giants with an injury settlement Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Advice: The running back is free to search for another opportunity in 2024 now that he's reached the settlement. In 2023 with the Giants, Brightwell carried the ball nine times for 19 yards and caught five passes for 47 yards. The 2021 sixth-round pick's best season came in 2022, when he ran for 141 yards and a score. Rotowire.com Monday, 4:26 pm

    • Knee injury included torn MCL
Hull recently revealed his offseason knee surgery was more extensive than first thought, as he suffered a torn left MCL, also described as a "root tear" of his meniscus, The Athletic reports. He was cleared to return to full football activities a few weeks before OTAs and has participated fully in spring practices.

Advice: Moss missed all but one game last season due to a knee injury, but the details of his surgery were not fully known. There's a wide-open competition for the backup role to Jonathan Taylor due to Zack Moss departing in free agency. Trey Sermon is likely the leading candidate, but Hull and Tyler Goodson are in the mix. Either Hull or Goodson could get more work as the third-down or receiving option due to pass-catching ability, but the situation remains fluid, and it's possible the Colts bring another veteran into the mix during training camp.
