    • Sutton a potential training camp holdout?
When asked about whether or not he would report to Broncos training camp, Courtland Sutton said, “We’ll see what happens.”

Advice: Despite reporting for mandatory minicamp this week, Sutton was unwilling to commit to reporting for Broncos training camp next month. The veteran receiver is still in search of a new contract and reiterated his desire to stay with the team, saying, “This is where I want to go hoist the Lombardi Trophy. This is the place where I want to retire.” Sutton, 28, caught 59 passes for 772 yards and a career-high 10 touchdowns last season. He hasn’t totaled more than 829 yards since 2019 but remains a reliable threat on the outside, averaging 13.3 YPR over the last four years. He’s reportedly on a new deal, but there’s been little word on whether the Broncos are looking to extend him at this time. Sutton doesn’t project as much more than a fringe WR3/WR4 in PPR leagues this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:57 am

    • Misses final day of minicamp
Cooper didn't report to June minicamp, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Advice: With his absence confirmed for a third straight day, Cooper can be fined slightly more than $100,000. He's in the final year of his contract and looking for a new deal, following a 2023 season in which he had career highs for receiving yards (1,250) and yards per catch (17.4) despite missing two games and playing with four different quarterbacks. He struggled to produce with PJ Walker and especially Dorian Thompson-Robinson, but Cooper reached 90 yards in four of Deshaun Watson's six starts and averaged 121.3 yards in the four games he played with Joe Flacco. Cooper will turn 30 next week and remains crucial to the Cleveland offense even after an offseason trade for Jerry Jeudy. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:52 am

    • Opportunity knocks
Holker, who signed a one-year contract with $235,000 guaranteed with the Saints after the 2024 NFL Draft, is a name to monitor with Juwan Johnson (foot) in need of surgery, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: Holker's odds of earning a roster spot improve substantially with Johnson facing a long period on the sidelines, and not being a guarantee to be ready for Week 1. Foster Moreau and Taysom Hill will likely handle the majority of first-team reps this offseason with Johnson recovering, but neither are a perfect match for his pass-catching role. Holker, though, is a clear move tight end and racked up a 64-767-6 receiving line in his senior season at Colorado State. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:49 am

    • Thrives at minicamp
Polk was one of New England's standouts at June minicamp, according to Phil Perry of NBC Sports.

Advice: It sounds like he mostly caught passes from Jacoby Brissett, but there was also a rookie-to-rookie connection on the final play of minicamp when Drake Maye hit Polk for a practice-ending touchdown. Polk reportedly has been quick to learn OC Alex Van Pelt's playbook, and Perry suggests that Patriots brass believes the rookie has high-end physical skills (even though his combine workout numbers were mediocre, including a 4.52 40). While many viewed Polk as a draft reach at 37th overall, he's got a nice opportunity to earn immediate playing time in a New England offense where all the WR roles seem up for grabs. • Returns to practice
McClellan (foot) participated in practice Tuesday, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports.

Advice: McClellan, a rookie sixth-round pick, missed roughly one month of spring activities due to a foot issue but now appears back to normal form. In that span, McClellan missed rookie minicamp and OTAs, so he may have some catching up to do in Atlanta's backfield, where Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier are entrenched atop the depth chart. • Bears to sign return specialist DeAndre Carter
Bears signed WR/KR DeAndre Carter, formerly of the Raiders.

Advice: Carter spent last season with the Raiders, appearing in all 17 games while catching four passes for 39 scoreless yards. For much of his six-year career, Carter’s primary contributions have been in the return game. He returned 35 kicks and punts for 494 yards and could flourish as a kick returner under the league’s new return rules. He’ll likely have to compete for a spot on the 53-man roster but should have a good shot at handling primary kick return duties this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:29 am

    • May still consider holdout
Sutton is still unhappy with his contract and suggested Tuesday that he might consider holding out from training camp, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.

Advice: It would be unusual for a player to report to June minicamp (the first mandatory team activities of the year) and then hold out for the start of training camp. Sutton revealed earlier this week that he had minor ankle surgery in the offseason and was away from the team during OTAs as a result, but it sounds like displeasure with his contract may also have been a factor. While most of his Tuesday comments reflected optimism about eventually reaching an agreement, Sutton also said negotiations "are at a stalemate in a sense." He has two years remaining on his contract, scheduled for $13.6 million in compensation this season ($2 million) and $14 million next year (none guaranteed). Sutton's comments suggest he wants a contract extension, but it won't be shocking if he ultimately settles for an adjustment that adds guaranteed money without adding years. Meanwhile, there's no indication of his ankle still being a problem. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:00 am

    • Eagles did not violate anti-tampering policy
The NFL reports, “After a thorough review of the Philadelphia Eagles signing of Saquon Barkley, the NFL today informed the club that the investigation did not discover sufficient evidence to support a finding that the Anti-Tampering policy was violated.”

Advice: The Eagles were facing fines and a potential loss of future draft picks if they were found to be in violation of the anti-tampering policy. In a statement released by the league, the NFL said, “In coming to this conclusion, the league reviewed phone logs, text messages and other documents related to Philadelphia’s free agency strategy and decision to sign Barkley. The NFL also interviewed several members of the organization, including Howie Roseman and Nick Sirianni, as well as Barkley and Penn State head coach James Franklin. As with every review, should new evidence be uncovered, the league may reopen the investigation.” It took nearly two months for the league to thoroughly investigate the matter, so we wouldn’t expect anything new to pop up. It sounds like the Eagles and Barkley are both in the clear as they prepare for the upcoming season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:57 am

    • Falcons lose 2025 fifth-round pick for tampering
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports, “The NFL is docking the Falcons a 2025 fifth-round pick for violating the league’s anti-tampering policy with Kirk Cousins, Darnell Mooney, and Charlie Woerner.”

Advice: When asked about potential tampering violations back in May, Cousins said, “There’s not a whole lot there.” The league, clearly thinking otherwise, has decided there was enough to not only dock the Falcons a future draft pick but also fine the team $250,000 and general Terry Fontenot $50,000. At his introductory press conference with the team back in March, Cousins more or less admitted to tampering when he talked about having contact with the team and free agent signee Darnell Mooney before the official start of the league year. In a statement put out by the league regarding the Falcons’ violation, the NFL said, “While the [anti-tampering] policy permits clubs to engage with and negotiate all aspects of an NFL player contract with the certified agent of any prospective unrestricted free agent during the two-day negotiating period, any direct contact between the player and an employee or representative of the club is prohibited. This includes discussion of travel arrangements or other logistical matters, which the club acknowledges took place with regard to these three players.” Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:56 am
