    • Adds muscle in offseason
Coach Mike McDaniel said Tuesday that Achane has made "some strength gains" and improved his understanding of Miami's offense, Andre Fernandez of The Miami Herald reports.

Advice: It sounds like Achane is off to a good start at the offseason program, potentially allowing him to gain ground on returning starter Raheem Mostert. Both backs figure to have significant roles after the impressive work they did last season, while fourth-round pick Jaylen Wright is a wild card to earn occasional carries. Adding some weight might lower Achane's injury risk a bit and/or allow him to take on more touches, though he still figures to be one of the smallest and fastest running backs in the league -- at least among players competing for a significant number of carries and early down snaps. He ran a 4.32 40 at 188 pounds at the 2023 Combine, before taking 103 carries for 800 yards (7.8 YPC) and three touchdowns in 11 regular-season games as a rookie. Achane also had 37 targets and three receiving TDs, with the pass-catching work allowing him to stay involved even when Mostert was healthy and gobbling up carries. Rotowire.com 3 minutes ago

    • Signing with Gang Green
Cohen is signing a one-year contract with the Jets, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Advice: Cohen will turn 29 in July and hasn't played in an NFL game since Week 3 of 2020, when he suffered an ACL tear that derailed a promising career. He missed all of 2021 while rehabbing from the knee injury and all of 2022 after suffering an Achilles' tear during the spring. Cohen then landed with the Panthers last season and spent most of the year on their practice squad, but he struggled with a hamstring injury, never got a promotion and ultimately was released in early May. He's unlikely to make noise in a backfield that has Breece Hall and two incoming draft picks, but Cohen should get a look on kick and punt returns this spring/summer. Rotowire.com 24 minutes ago

    • Jets sign former Bears, Panthers RB Tarik Cohen
Jets signed RB Tarik Cohen, formerly of the Panthers.

Advice: Cohen, who hasn’t take a regular season snap since the 2020 season, will try to make the Jets roster this summer. He’s suffered both an ACL tear and an Achilles tear during his pro career and has struggled to get back to the form he displayed in his first couple seasons with the Bears. Cohen had a combined 1,000 scrimmage yards in 2018 as a scat back in Chicago. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago

    • Making progress with foot
Williams (foot) went through an up-tempo workout Tuesday with athletic trainers, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.

Advice: While he won't practice at OTAs or minicamp, Williams at least is able to get out on the field and move around with the Rams' training staff. This would seem to support coach Sean McVay's recent comments downplaying the severity of Williams' foot injury, though it's worth noting that the running back suffered a broken foot in spring/summer 2022 shortly after the Rams took him in the fifth round of the 2022 Draft. McVay said Williams will miss offseason practices but return for training camp, at which point the third-year pro will take his spot atop the depth chart. His absences from practice this spring could open up first-team reps for third-round pick Blake Corum, 29-year-old Boston Scott and even Ronnie Rivers or Zach Evans. Rotowire.com 55 minutes ago

    • Taysom Hill seeing backfield usage in OTAs
Sports Illustrated’s John Hendrix reports Taysom Hill is being used in the backfield during Saints OTAs.

Advice: Hill, listed as a tight end but used through the years as a versatile offensive weapon, was seen taking direct snaps on offense and working with the special teams unit. Hendrix said Hill being deployed in the “backfield is starting to be a pretty exciting thing to see unfold. There was a play in team where he was the running back in shotgun and took the run left for a nice little gain. On that play, we also saw two players go in motion, with Juwan Johnson and Dallin Holker.” It appears new Saints OC Klint Kubiak is willing to retain always-shifting package of Taysom plays that have been intriguing and sometimes frustrating for fantasy purposes. Hill and Kubiak reportedly met in the offseason to discuss Hill’s role in the Kubiak system; Hill said the conversation was “super positive.” Taysom in 2023 finished as fantasy’s tenth highest scoring tight end, just behind Trey McBride. Continued backfield usage for Hill in 2024 would be decidedly bad news for Alvin Kamara’s touchdown upside. Rotoworld Today, 5:28 am

    • Gets cut loose
Harris (undisclosed) has been waived from IR with an injury settlement, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Advice: Harris reverted to IR on Wednesday after clearing waivers. Instead of being forced to miss the entirety of the 2024 campaign, he'll now have the chance to find a new opportunity once he can prove himself healthy. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:30 pm

    • The Texans and Nico Collins reach new deal
The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports the Texans have re-signed Nico Collins to a three-year, $72 million deal.

Advice: Collins’ breakout 2023 campaign (80-1,297-8) has paid off as he’s now contractually set as the Texans’ WR1. Even with Diggs being traded to the Texans, this comes as no surprise as Collins is the younger (and home grown) talent. Collins should be considered in the second round in all one-quarterback, redraft fantasy leagues. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:18 pm

    • Back on field
Mallory (hamstring) participated in OTAs last week.

Advice: Mallory finished the 2023 campaign sidelined by an injury, but it appears the 2023 fifth-round selection has fully recovered. Although he was able to contribute 18 receptions and 207 yards in 12 regular-season games during his rookie campaign, he faces a crowded tight end room in Indianapolis with the return of Jelani Woods from a Hamstring injury, as well as holdovers Kylen Granson, Mo Alie-Cox and Drew Ogletree. • Inks three-year extension
Collins agreed to terms Tuesday on a three-year, $72.75 million contract extension, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Advice: Collins is coming off a breakout 2023 season in which he piled up a 80-1,297-8 receiving line on 109 targets (15 games), and even with Stefon Diggs in town on a one-year deal, Collins represents the future for Houston's wide receiver corps, as does second-year pro Tank Dell. While the addition of Diggs crowds the Texans' target distribution, as does the presence of capable pass-catching options like Joe Mixon in the backfield and tight end Dalton Schultz, this significant monetary commitment to Collins provides a bit of extra incentive for offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik to allow Collins and C.J. Stroud to feature the chemistry they demonstrated last season. If Stroud and the Texans can build off 2023 and hit the ground running, Collins should find himself as a frontman in one of the league's elite passing offenses. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:54 pm
