    • Dealing with thumb injury
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said Wednesday that Van Ness is dealing with a broken thumb, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: LaFleur didn't specify when Van Ness suffered the injury, but he downplayed the severity of the issue by saying that the edge rusher "broke his thumb just a little bit." The 2023 first-round pick sat out Green Bay's voluntary OTA session Wednesday, according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, so it will be worth monitoring his involvement by the start of the team's mandatory minicamp June 11. Van Ness recorded 32 tackles and four sacks over 17 regular-season games during his rookie season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:04 pm

    • Misdemeanors filed against Chiefs DL Isaiah Buggs
ESPN’s Adam Teicher reports two misdemeanor warrants have been filed against Chiefs DL Isaiah Buggs on charges of cruelty to dogs in the second degree.

Advice: Buggs was charged in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, where he played college football for the Crimson Tide. Court documents say that two dogs were found on the porch of a home rented by Buggs with no access to food or water. Buggs’ agent, Trey Robinson, denies the charges, saying the dogs do not belong to Buggs and the charges are part of a campaign to force the closure of a hookah lounge he owns in Tuscaloosa. Robinson also stated that Buggs was arrested on misdemeanor chargers twice in the past two months at his hookah lounge, but no public record was made of these arrests. He maintains that this is part of a campaign to force him to surrender his business license. Buggs started his career with three seasons in Pittsburgh, then two with the Lions before joining the Chiefs’ practice squad in January and then re-signing on a futures contract. He is the latest Chief to face legal troubles this offseason. Rotoworld Wednesday, 3:37 pm

    • Gets new opportunity
Tupou signed a contract with the Ravens on Tuesday.

Advice: Tupou has spent the last six seasons with the Bengals, but the team didn't re-sign the veteran, opening up the opportunity for him to sign with the AFC North rival. The 30-year-old will likely compete for a depth role on the interior of the defensive line in Baltimore. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 1:38 pm

    • Suffers major injury in offseason
Kpassagnon suffered a torn Achilles at some point during the offseason, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.

Advice: It's unclear exactly how or when Kpassagnon suffered the injury, but it will certainly impact his ability to be ready when the 2024 season starts. However, according to head coach Dennis Allen, the Villanova product may be able to return at some point during the season, Rod Walker of The Times-Picayune reports. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 1:08 pm

    • Vita Vea reportedly slims down ahead of 2024
The Tampa Bay Times reports Bucs DT Vita Vea has slimmed down ahead of the 2024 season.

Advice: Vea reportedly played 2023 at “a lot more” than his listed weight of 347, and the Bucs’ coaching staff thought it was affecting his game. He has spent this offseason working out with famed workout warrior Ndamukong Suh. Vea isn’t exactly the kind of player you want wildly slimming down, but he apparently crossed the fine line of getting too bulky. We would expect better this season. Rotoworld Monday, 6:57 am
