    • Could take reps at edge rusher
Coach Dan Quinn said Thursday the Commanders are providing Davis (shoulder) an opportunity to compete for edge rusher snaps this offseason, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.

Advice: Quinn said "we're trying to really push [Davis] specifically on the versatility," and that "you'll see him working some with the defensive line, you'll see him working with [pass rush specialist] Ryan Kerrigan on the side." Davis is entering a contract season after having his fifth-year option declined, and the additions of Bobby Wagner and Frankie Luvu raise questions about the extent of his role. Also contributing as a pass-rusher on at least a rotational basis would help boost Davis' fantasy ceiling in IDP formats. He underwent season-ending shoulder surgery back in December, but it appears that Davis has already resumed taking reps at spring practices. Rotowire.com Today, 8:53 am

    • Could miss start of training camp
Head coach Dan Campbell told reporters Thursday that Reader (quadriceps) may not be ready for the start of training camp, per NFL.com.

Advice: Reader inked a two-year deal with the Lions back in March, but he has yet to take the field as he continues to recover from a quadriceps issue that he sustained late last year. Injuries have been a concern for the 29-year-old as of late, causing him to miss 10 total games over the last two seasons. Once Reader returns to full health, he's expected to remain one of the league's best run-stoppers in 2024. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:37 pm
