• Plans to be back by training camp
Young received a positive report on his recovery from offseason neck surgery earlier this week, and plans to participate in the Saints' training camp, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: Young's neck surgery earlier in the offseason was supposed to sideline him until at least training camp, so this report comes as positive news for the Saints. The former first-round pick out of Ohio State has struggled with injuries since he won Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2020, appearing in just 28 regular-season games over the last three seasons. Once Young returns to full health, he's expected to provide some pass-rushing prowess to the Saints' defense in 2024. Rotowire.com Thursday, 2:51 pm

  • Past knee issue
Reed (knee) was spotted working out during Wednesday's mandatory minicamp session, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: The eight-year veteran missed the Seahawks' 2023 season finale due to a knee issue, but it now seems as if he's moved past his injury. Reed produced at a high level in the 16 games he appeared in last season, recording 54 total tackles, including 7.0 sacks, while also defending two passes. Now that Reed is back at full health, he's expected to remain one of Seattle's top interior defensive linemen in 2024. Rotowire.com Thursday, 2:22 pm

  • Added by Jets
The Jets signed McKinley on Thursday.

Advice: The 2017 first-round pick out of UCLA has struggled to find his place in the NFL, but he's been given a new opportunity by the Jets. McKinley most recently played for the Rams in 2022, recording just one total tackle across four contests (23 total snaps). Now that McKinley has inked a deal with New York, he'll likely be competing for a depth role on the Jets' defensive line as the offseason progresses. Rotowire.com Thursday, 2:15 pm

  • Chase Young (neck) eyeing return for training camp
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports Chase Young (neck) “received a positive report from renowned neck specialist Dr. Robert Watkins” and he “plans to participate in training camp.”

Advice: Issues concerning Young’s neck became public shortly after he signed with the Saints, who said they were aware of the injury prior to signing the former No. 2 overall pick. Young totaled 7.5 sacks and seven TFLs last season while splitting time between the Commanders and the 49ers. He underwent a surgical procedure to correct the issue and is expected to undergo more tests in about six weeks, per Fowler. Young signed a one-year, $13 million contract with the Saints and is hoping a successful 2024 can lead to a big payday next offseason. Rotoworld Thursday, 2:05 pm

  • Seahawks restructure Dre’Mont Jones’ contract
Seahawks restructured DL Dre’Mont Jones’ contract.

Advice: The Seahawks signed Jones to a three-year, $51 million contract last offseason. He went on to appear in all 17 games for them while totaling 4.5 sacks and five TFLs but did little to help a defense that allowed the second-most rushing yards per game and the third-most yards overall. According to The Seattle Times’ Bob Condotta, Jones’ restructured deal creates $7.4 million in cap space for the Seahawks, while they also added two void years for 2026 and 2027. • Myles Garrett tweaks hammy on last day of minicamp
Myles Garrett suffered a minor hamstring injury in the Browns’ final day of minicamp.

Advice: According to an article by Mary Kay Cabot, Garrett “pulled up limping in an early defensive drill and grabbed the back of his left hamstring.” Garrett did the rest of his work from the sideline after suffering the injury, but head coach Kevin Stefanski said at the end of the day that Garrett would “be fine.” Garrett totaled 42 tackles and 14 sacks for the Browns last season and walked away with Defensive Player of the Year honors. He’ll have a month to recoup from his injury before training camp opens in July. Rotoworld Thursday, 11:47 am
