• Isaiah Buggs arrested on domestic violence charges
Chiefs DL Isaiah Buggs was arrested and booked on domestic violence and burglary charges on Sunday.

Advice: Buggs has been arrested twice in less than a month after misdemeanor charges were filed against him on May 29 for cruelty to dogs in the second degree. According to an article by ESPN, Buggs was booked into the Tuscaloosa County jail and later released on a $5,000 bond. Buggs appeared in 10 games last season for the Lions and was signed to the Chiefs practice squad in January 2024, shortly after the Lions released him. We don’t know much about this incident outside of Buggs’ arrest and release, but it wouldn’t be surprising if the Chiefs cut ties with him in the coming days given the recent string of events. • Heyward reiterates desire to remain with Steelers
Cam Heyward posted to his social media account that, “The goal is to be a Steeler” for the rest of his career.

Advice: Currently in search of a new contract from the Steelers, Heyward said last week that he and his wife had discussed the possibility of needing to play elsewhere if he doesn’t re-sign with the Steelers beyond this season. Heyward, 35, appeared in 11 games for the Steelers last season, totaling two sacks and six TFLs. He combined for 20.5 sacks and 29 TFLs from 2021-2022, but he’s well past the age where we begin to see players decline. Heyward skipped OTAs but was present at minicamp, so we wouldn’t expect a holdout when training camp ramps up next month. With that said, we could be looking at the final season in Pittsburgh for a player who has long been a staple along the Steelers’ defensive interior. Rotoworld Today, 12:51 pm

  • Dolphins bolster d-line, sign Calais Campbell
Dolphins signed DE Calais Campbell, formerly of the Falcons.

Advice: Campbell has mulled retirement for the last several seasons but is now set to join the Dolphins on what is likely a one-year deal. The soon-to-be 38-year-old totaled 6.5 sacks and 10 TFLs in his lone season with the Falcons and is now ready to return to Miami, where he played in college ball from 2005-2007. Campbell should provide immediate help along the interior for a defense that lost defensive tackle Christian Wilkins to the Raiders via free agency and continues to play at a high enough level to be an impact player. Amongst defensive linemen who played at least 300 snaps last season, Calais ranked 39th with a defensive grade of 80.0. Rotoworld Thursday, 5:30 pm

  • Past shoulder injury
Morris (shoulder) was spotted working out during Wednesday's mandatory minicamp session, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: Morris sustained a season-ending shoulder injury early in Seattle's 2023 campaign, but with his participation in the Seahawks' minicamp, it seems he's past the issue. The 2023 fifth-round pick out of Michigan tallied three total tackles in his one appearance last season, and he's expected to compete for another depth role on the Seahawks' defensive line as the offseason progresses. • Plans to be back by training camp
Young received a positive report on his recovery from offseason neck surgery earlier this week, and plans to participate in the Saints' training camp, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: Young's neck surgery earlier in the offseason was supposed to sideline him until at least training camp, so this report comes as positive news for the Saints. The former first-round pick out of Ohio State has struggled with injuries since he won Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2020, appearing in just 28 regular-season games over the last three seasons. Once Young returns to full health, he's expected to provide some pass-rushing prowess to the Saints' defense in 2024. Rotowire.com Thursday, 2:51 pm

  • Past knee issue
Reed (knee) was spotted working out during Wednesday's mandatory minicamp session, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: The eight-year veteran missed the Seahawks' 2023 season finale due to a knee issue, but it now seems as if he's moved past his injury. Reed produced at a high level in the 16 games he appeared in last season, recording 54 total tackles, including 7.0 sacks, while also defending two passes. Now that Reed is back at full health, he's expected to remain one of Seattle's top interior defensive linemen in 2024. Rotowire.com Thursday, 2:22 pm

  • Chase Young (neck) eyeing return for training camp
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports Chase Young (neck) “received a positive report from renowned neck specialist Dr. Robert Watkins” and he “plans to participate in training camp.”

Advice: Issues concerning Young’s neck became public shortly after he signed with the Saints, who said they were aware of the injury prior to signing the former No. 2 overall pick. Young totaled 7.5 sacks and seven TFLs last season while splitting time between the Commanders and the 49ers. He underwent a surgical procedure to correct the issue and is expected to undergo more tests in about six weeks, per Fowler. Young signed a one-year, $13 million contract with the Saints and is hoping a successful 2024 can lead to a big payday next offseason. Rotoworld Thursday, 2:05 pm

  • Seahawks restructure Dre’Mont Jones’ contract
Seahawks restructured DL Dre’Mont Jones’ contract.

Advice: The Seahawks signed Jones to a three-year, $51 million contract last offseason. He went on to appear in all 17 games for them while totaling 4.5 sacks and five TFLs but did little to help a defense that allowed the second-most rushing yards per game and the third-most yards overall. According to The Seattle Times’ Bob Condotta, Jones’ restructured deal creates $7.4 million in cap space for the Seahawks, while they also added two void years for 2026 and 2027.
