Although they drew the No. 9 overall selection, Jumpin' Bones didn't let it get them down, building a roster capable of beating any team in SmackTalk XX. After picking up multiple Chiefs in the early rounds (Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce), Jumpin' Bones are predicted to finish with a record of 12-2 (1,806 points), making them the team to beat.

  • Michael Thomas

Biggest Steal: What a great late-round value for Jumpin' Bones, who selected Thomas with the 2nd pick in the 14th round, about five rounds later than his ADP of 94. After a season in which he recorded 40 receptions for 438 yards in 7 games, totaling 32 fantasy points, Thomas is projected to score 101 fantasy points with the Saints. That makes him the No. 6 WR for this squad.

  • Brandon Aiyuk

Going out on a Limb: Are you friends with Denzel Washington? Because you must have had an "Inside Man" telling you to draft Aiyuk in the 6th round, about 11 spots earlier than his ADP of 63. Then again, maybe you're onto something. Projected to score 124 fantasy points this season with the 49ers, he looks set to top his rookie year when he grabbed 60 passes for 748 yards and 5 TDs over 12 games, posting 99 fantasy points. Based on projected points, Aiyuk will slot in as the No. 4 WR for Jumpin' Bones to begin the season.

Draft Notes

  • Jumpin' Bones initiated a run on the kicker position, taking Justin Tucker at No. 92 overall as the first K off the draft board. In the following round, five more kickers were snatched up.

  • If you're not first, you're last, so good thing you were first. You got out ahead of your opponents at tight end, drafting Travis Kelce (No. 12 overall) as the first TE off the board. You demonstrated more patience at running back, becoming the last manager in the league to draft a RB with the selection of D'Andre Swift (No. 49 overall).

  • Week 9 could bring on a case of the Bye Week Blues for Jumpin' Bones, as they have four players on a bye (Ryan Fitzpatrick, D'Andre Swift, Terry McLaurin, and Jamaal Williams). Fear not: My Ball Zach Ertz, your Week 9 opponent, will be facing a similar struggle with three players (Tom Brady, DK Metcalf, and Mike Evans) on a bye week.

  • With a strength of schedule that rates as the easiest according to projections, Jumpin' Bones have a straightforward road in SmackTalk XX this season. Don't be fooled, though, the work is only just beginning. Even the softest schedules can present plenty of issues for those who fail to stay active.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
