Having the first pick in the draft doesn't always yield a championship. But in this case, it very well could. Keeper Reapers did what top-tier fantasy managers do when they land the No. 1 overall pick. They put together a juggernaut. The team is notably talented at the running back position, as Christian McCaffrey and David Johnson are expected to combine for the highest point total of all starting RB groups in the league. Keeper Reapers are projected to finish in first place in Vince Lombardi Keeper League with a mark of 11-2 (1,684 points).

  • Drew Lock

Best Keeper: Keeper Reapers undoubtedly know how to pick 'em, and Lock has the greatest odds to elevate his game among the keepers. Following a rookie season in which he threw for 1,020 yards and 7 TDs with 3 interceptions in 5 games, totaling 81 fantasy points, Lock is projected to score 278 fantasy points with the Broncos. That makes him a valuable No. 2 QB for this squad.

  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling

Regression Candidate: Selecting four keepers is no easy task, but the decision to bring Valdes-Scantling back might come back to plague Keeper Reapers. After a season in which he recorded 26 catches for 452 yards and 2 TDs, totaling 57 fantasy points, Valdes-Scantling is projected to score 38 fantasy points with the Packers, which would make him the No. 5 WR for this squad.

Draft Notes

  • Keeper Reapers made the most of their four keepers, retaining them at around pick No. 155 on average, just under six rounds later than their average ADP of 76.

  • Week 10 will bring on a case of the Bye Week Blues for Keeper Reapers, as they have three players on a bye (Austin Ekeler, Harrison Butker, and Hunter Henry). Fortunately, Desert Eagles, your Week 10 opponent, will be facing a similar quandary with four players on the sideline.

  • Based on projections, Keeper Reapers have a straightforward path in Vince Lombardi Keeper League this season with a strength of schedule ranked as the easiest. That doesn't mean you can take it easy, though. For managers who aren't diligent, even light schedules can turn difficult without warning.

  • Keeper Reapers have compiled a fairly young lineup with an average of 4.1 years of NFL experience, ranking as the 4th-youngest group in the league. Still, they didn't pick any of the 20 rookies drafted.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
