Turning a bottom-half draft slot into top-half results is the sign of a strong effort by the GM. Such was the case with Mutinous Apes, which flipped its No. 14 overall pick into a projected 6th-place finish in OklahomIraqis League AFC. After picking up multiple Patriots in the early rounds (Sony Michel and Josh Gordon), Mutinous Apes are predicted to put up a total of 2,464 points based on the current roster, which would result in a 7-6 record.

  • George Kittle

Biggest Steal: Mutinous Apes notched a nice early bargain in selecting Kittle at No. 42, about 19 spots later than his ADP of 23. After a season in which he recorded 88 receptions for 1,377 yards and 5 TDs, totaling 259 fantasy points, Kittle is projected to score 242 fantasy points with the 49ers. That makes him a valuable No. 1 TE for this squad.

  • Josh Gordon

Stretch Pick: Are you in a sharing mood? We'd love to know what prompted you to choose Gordon with the 14th pick in the 5th round, about 16 spots earlier than his ADP of 86. Granted, you could be onto something? Projected to score 200 fantasy points this season with the Patriots, he looks poised to take a step forward from last year when he snagged 41 balls for 737 yards and 4 TDs over 12 games, posting 139 fantasy points. Based on projections, Gordon will slot in as the No. 4 WR for Mutinous Apes to begin the season.

Draft Notes

  • With only one kicker off the board, Mutinous Apes foresaw a run coming and jumped in early, taking Justin Tucker in the 13th round. In the round that followed, three more kickers went off the board.

  • Mutinous Apes face a tough task in Week 11 when they have four players on a bye (Davante Adams, Corey Davis, Jamaal Williams, and David Moore). Your Week 11 opponent, Negligent Discharges, won't be nearly as encumbered with only one player (Dion Lewis) getting the week off.

  • According to projections, Mutinous Apes have one of the most daunting schedules in the early-going in OklahomIraqis League AFC with a strength of schedule for the first four weeks rated as the 2nd-most difficult. Even so, for the season as a whole, Mutinous Apes have drawn a pretty fair path rated as the 8th toughest.

  • With the 3rd-youngest group in the league at an average of 4.1 years of NFL experience, Mutinous Apes are trying to catch lightning in a bottle. Despite that, they didn't select any of the 29 rookies drafted.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
