When a bottom-half draft slot produces top-half results, that's the sign of a great effort by the GM. Such was the case with RT17, which flipped its No. 8 overall pick into a projected 4th-place finish in Ocean. RT17 are predicted to put up a total of 7,748 points based on the current roster, which would result in a 10-3 record.
- DK Metcalf
Best Pick: What a tremendous late-round bargain for RT17, who selected Metcalf at No. 305, about 16 rounds later than his ADP of 125. Metcalf is projected to score 18 fantasy points with the Seahawks, making him the No. 5 WR for this squad.
- Jared Goff
Reach Pick: You may have gotten a little ahead of yourself when deciding to draft Goff in the 6th round, about two rounds earlier than his ADP of 100. Projected to score 775 fantasy points this season with the Rams, he'll attempt to match last year when he threw for 4,688 yards and 32 TDs with 12 interceptions, earning 794 fantasy points. Based on projections, Goff will slot in as the No. 3 QB for RT17 to begin the season.
Draft Notes
-
Patience is a virtue. With the selection of TE Jimmy Graham (No. 233 overall), you became the last owner in the league to draft a tight end.
-
RT17 will live and die with the Falcons this season, as the selections of Devonta Freeman, Deion Jones, and Keanu Neal give them three Atlanta players, tied for the most of any team in Ocean. League-wide, the Browns were the most popular team, as 15 of them were selected in the draft.
-
RT17 face a tough task in Week 9 when they have five players on a bye (Jared Goff, Michael Thomas, Devonta Freeman, Deion Jones, and Keanu Neal). KayCee Chiefs, your Week 9 opponent, will have three players (Tre'Quan Smith, Darrell Henderson, and Ryan Finley) on a bye week.
-
With a strength of schedule that ranks middle-of-the-pack based on projections, RT17 have a fairly balanced path in Ocean this season.

How We Grade
Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
