A brilliant draft-day performance by the GM of Brian McDougall turned the No. 5 overall pick into a projected 1st-place finish. Brian McDougall are predicted to finish 11-3 (2,236 points) in LEEIB Sports Network.

  • Dalvin Cook

Biggest Steal: Brian McDougall netted a outstanding early-round bargain in choosing Cook with the 5th pick of the 5th round, about 11 slots later than his ADP of 18. Coming off a rookie season in which he rushed for 354 yards and 2 TDs and had 11 receptions for 90 yards in 4 games, totaling 60 fantasy points, Cook is projected to score 231 fantasy points with the Vikings. That makes him a valuable No. 3 RB for this squad.

  • Trey Burton

Reach Pick: You must have had some inside info when deciding to choose Burton with the 2nd pick of the 12th round, about 7 spots earlier than his ADP of 75. Granted, you could be onto something. Projected to score 157 fantasy points this season with the Bears, he appears poised to surpass last year when he racked up 23 receptions for 248 yards and 5 TDs in 13 games to earn 56 fantasy points. But do you really need an extra TE? After all, you can only start one per week. According to projections, Burton will slot in as the No. 2 TE for Brian McDougall to begin the season.

Draft Notes

  • Fashionably late? You became the last owner in the league to draft a tight end with your selection of Greg Olsen (No. 56 overall).

  • By good fortune or clever drafting strategy, Brian McDougall have broken up their bye weeks very well. They don't have more than two players on a bye in any given week.

  • With a strength of schedule that ranks as the most difficult based on projected records, Brian McDougall have a tough road in LEEIB Sports Network this season. But all is not lost. Strength of schedule is just a number. Get involved in trade talks and on the wire, and you'll be just fine.

  • With an average of 4.1 years of NFL experience, ranking in the middle of the pack for the league, Brian McDougall are counting on veteran leadership to rein in youthful exuberance. Some experience is preferred, though, as they didn't select any rookies. Only one first-year player was chosen in the draft.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
