Blessed with a juicy draft position (No. 2 overall), Lord of the Rings had an excellent performance. The team is especially strong at the running back position, as Le'Veon Bell and Ronald Jones II are expected to combine for the highest point total of all starting RB groups in the league. Lord of the Rings are projected to finish 1st in Movie Forums Fantasy Football with a record of 10-3 (1,784 points).

  • Rishard Matthews

Biggest Steal: What a tremendous late-round value for Lord of the Rings, who picked up Matthews in the 12th round, about three rounds later than his ADP of 133. Coming off a season in which he snagged 53 passes for 795 yards and 4 TDs in 14 games, totaling 162 fantasy points, Matthews is projected to score 145 fantasy points with the Titans. That makes him a valuable No. 4 WR for this squad.

  • Larry Fitzgerald

Regression Candidate: Of the 16 players selected by Lord of the Rings, Fitzgerald ought to decline the most from last year among the group on the offensive side of the ball. Following a season in which he caught 109 passes for 1,156 yards and 6 TDs, totaling 207 fantasy points, Fitzgerald is projected to score 173 fantasy points with the Cardinals, a 17% drop. That would make him the No. 3 WR for this squad.

Draft Notes

  • Lord of the Rings went particularly light at running back, taking fewer than any team in the league with just two, trailing the league average of 4.8.

  • With the selections of Ronald Jones II, Cameron Brate, and Chris Godwin, Lord of the Rings had the highest number of Buccaneers of any team in Movie Forums Fantasy Football. League-wide, the Patriots were the most popular team, as nine of them were selected in the draft.

  • Lord of the Rings have one of the hardest schedules in the early-going in Movie Forums Fantasy Football according to projected records with a strength of schedule for the first four weeks rated as the 4th-most difficult. Even so, for the season as a whole, Lord of the Rings face a fairly balanced schedule that rates as the 7th toughest.

  • In spite of unfilled slots at QB, RB, and TE in the 4th round, Lord of the Rings selected WR Josh Gordon at No. 55, filling the WR/RB/TE flex position instead of a position of greater need. They were the second squad to fill a flex position.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
