When a bottom-half draft slot produces top-half results, that's the sign of a great effort by the GM. Such was the case with Dirty Hippies, which flipped its No. 8 overall pick into a projected 7th-place finish in OklahomIraqis League NFC. Dirty Hippies are predicted to put up a total of 2,237 points based on the current roster, which would result in a 6-7 record.

  • Drew Brees

Best Pick: What a great early-round bargain for Dirty Hippies, who selected Brees with the 7th pick in the 6th round, about two rounds later than his ADP of 51. Coming off a season in which he threw for 4,334 yards and 23 TDs with 8 INTs, totaling 291 fantasy points, Brees is projected to score 375 fantasy points with the Saints. That makes him a valuable No. 1 QB for this squad.

  • Kelvin Benjamin

Going out on a Limb: You might have gotten a little ahead of yourself when deciding to select Benjamin with the 7th pick of the 8th round, about 21 picks earlier than his ADP of 126. Then again, perhaps you're onto something. Projected to score 174 fantasy points this season with the Bills, he appears set to outperform last year when he grabbed 48 passes for 692 yards and 3 TDs in 14 games to earn 111 fantasy points. Based on projected points, Benjamin will slot in as the No. 4 WR for Dirty Hippies to begin the season.

Draft Notes

  • Week 10 will be a difficult task for Dirty Hippies, as they have four players on a bye (DeAndre Hopkins, Dalvin Cook, Courtland Sutton, and Kenneth Dixon). Your Week 10 opponent, AMMODOG, won't be nearly as hamstrung with only one player (Deshaun Watson) on a bye.

  • Going off projections, Dirty Hippies have one of the most challenging schedules in OklahomIraqis League NFC this season with a strength of schedule that ranks as the 4th-most difficult. But that doesn't mean you're destined to lose. No matter how tough your opponents are, the better team will prevail. There are infinite ways to continue improving over the course of the season for those who remain involved.

  • Dirty Hippies must be counting on veteran leadership to rein in youthful exuberance, putting together a balanced squad with an average of 5.5 years of NFL experience, ranking in the middle of the pack for the league. They selected three rookies (Michael Gallup, Nick Chubb, and Courtland Sutton), the 2nd-highest total in the league. In total, there were 21 rookies selected over the course of the OklahomIraqis League NFC draft.

  • With the choice of WR Kelvin Benjamin at No. 105, Dirty Hippies utilized the flex positions for the first time after completing all of the individual offensive positions in the draft.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
