Angry Gnomes took advantage of the top pick in the draft and built the kind of roster that makes opponents "go out of town" or "spend time with the kids" when they see your team on the schedule. While the rest of the league runs and hides, Angry Gnomes is projected to finish first in Movie Forums Fantasy Football League at 11-2-0 (1,781 points). They didn't target any one position early, selecting QB Marcus Mariota (57th overall), RB David Johnson (1st), WR Emmanuel Sanders (56th), and TE Rob Gronkowski (29th) within the first five rounds. When the dust settled, they'd ultimately landed the best TE duo in the league, as they have Gronkowski and Antonio Gates.

Week 8 may cause some frustration for Angry Gnomes, as their top two projected scorers (Marcus Mariota and David Johnson) will be relaxing at home that week. Looking at the season as a whole, they have the easiest schedule. Along with having the easiest overall schedule, Angry Gnomes has the softest last four games of the season.

Draft Notes

  • Like Choosing your Favorite Kardashian

Angry Gnomes will have some tricky calls to make each week at RB, with a slim projected points difference between their third- (Frank Gore), fourth- (DeAndre Washington), and fifth-ranked (Rex Burkhead) RBs.

  • Separating the Wheat from the Chaff

At four different positions, Angry Gnomes picked up projected top-3 players (including David Johnson, Rob Gronkowski, and Adam Vinatieri).

  • Sky's the Limit

With four players projected to significantly beat their previous year's fantasy points, Angry Gnomes hopes to have found some up-and-coming stars.

  • Very Sneaky, Angry Gnomes

They nabbed a sleeper in David Njoku with pick No. 197.

  • Angry Gnomes Went All YOLO Here

Grabbing DeAndre Washington at pick 224 was just a bit of a stretch. Washington is owned on only a few rosters across all Yahoo! leagues.

Player Analysis

    • David Johnson, RB
    • Round 1, Pick 1
    No Backfield Committee Here

Projected to touch the ball 344 times this year (most in the NFL), David Johnson could deliver for Angry Gnomes each and every week.

    • C. McCaffrey, RB
    • Round 2, Pick 28
    Traditionalist

Angry Gnomes stuck to the tried-and-true fantasy strategy of going RB-RB to start the draft, nabbing David Johnson and Christian McCaffrey right off the bat.

    • Rob Gronkowski, TE
    • Round 3, Pick 29
    Stolen In Broad Daylight

Rob Gronkowski was the best value pick of the round and could be the cause of many sleepless nights for the other managers.

    • Marcus Mariota, QB
    • Round 5, Pick 57
    Not Afraid to Scramble

With 405 projected rushing yards (ranked fourth among QBs), Marcus Mariota has multiple ways to bring in points.

    • Frank Gore, RB
    • Round 6, Pick 84
    That Just Happened

Why can't I find Frank Gore on my draft cheat sheet? Oh wait, here he is under "mid-to-late-round value."

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
