A masterful draft-day performance by the GM of Ravens turned the seventh overall pick into a projected finish of second. They're expected to finish 9-3-0 (1,479 points) in CZNFL A League 17 League. If they have a bad season, it won't be due to a lack of wide receivers, as they used three of their first five selections to pick up WRs Odell Beckham Jr. (first round), Michael Crabtree (fourth round), and Martavis Bryant (fifth round). Ravens will rely heavily on this group, as they are the top group of WRs in the league.

Ravens should just disappear for a while during Week 9. They have five players and the most projected fantasy points on bye that week. Based on their opponents' projected points, they have one of the weakest schedules. Ravens has the opportunity to come out firing, as the first four games of their season are projected to be less difficult than the league average.

Draft Notes

  • A Wasted Pick?

If Ravens can't trade one of their six above-average WRs, then at least they'll be able to boast their superior depth at the position. Which, ya know, is good for something.

  • Good Luck With That One!

Ravens will have some intriguing decisions to make each week at WR, with a narrow projected points difference between their third- (Michael Crabtree), fourth- (Tyrell Williams), and fifth-ranked (Robby Anderson) wideouts.

  • Separating the Wheat from the Chaff

At three different positions, Ravens picked up projected top-3 players (Odell Beckham Jr., Tom Brady, and Stephen Gostkowski).

  • Sky's the Limit

With five players projected to significantly beat their previous year's fantasy points, Ravens hopes to have found some up-and-coming stars.

  • Great Idea, Poor Execution

Ravens will need to get busy on the waiver wire in Week 9, as their only TE (Hunter Henry) and only K (Stephen Gostkowski) will both be off that week.

  • No Back-Up No Cry

Ignoring roster depth, Ravens chose only one player at three different positions (TE, DEF, and K).

Player Analysis

    • O. Beckham Jr., WR
    • Round 1, Pick 7
Big Numbers in the Big Apple

Last season, Beckham logged his third straight campaign of 90+ receptions, 1,300+ receiving yards, and 10+ TDs. Only one NFL player (Mike Evans) saw more targets in 2016.

    • L. Fournette, RB
    • Round 2, Pick 18
    Feed Thy Beast

Leonard Fournette will get the ball early and often, and he's projected to finish eighth in the league with 279 touches.

    • Tom Brady, QB
    • Round 3, Pick 31
    Like Marino in His Prime

Tom Brady is projected to lead the NFL in both passing yards (4,906) and passing TDs (39.9).

    • M. Bryant, WR
    • Round 5, Pick 55
    Dishing Out Nightmares

Martavis Bryant will look to haunt the dreams of opposing corners, as he's projected to finish third in the NFL with 10.5 receiving TDs.

    • A. Peterson, RB
    • Round 6, Pick 66
Was Adrian Peterson the Best Choice at Pick No. 66?

Ravens apparently thought so. The Saints' RB is projected to improve to the tune of 137 points this year, after only putting up 6 last season.

Best Available

DEF and RB are expected to be the worst positions for Ravens and a potential area of need.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent.
