MiniWieners managed to take the third overall pick and convert it into fantasy gold with an expected finish of first place in Stampede Blue League 8 League. Projected to #FeelTheWins with a 11-2-0 record this year, we hope the GM of MiniWieners filters their way to glory with our new custom Y! Fantasy Football SnapChat Lens. They didn't target any one position early, selecting QB Tom Brady (27th overall), RB Todd Gurley (22nd), WR Antonio Brown (3rd), and TE Greg Olsen (51st) within the first five rounds. They also ultimately ended up with the best group of WRs in the league, as they added Brown, Allen Robinson, Jarvis Landry, and DeSean Jackson.

MiniWieners can write off Week 11 as a scheduling injustice and use that time to consider other injustices: for example, why doesn't Chewbacca get a medal during the ceremony at the end of Star Wars? Wookie bias? They have five players and the most projected fantasy points on bye that week. Taking a look at the season from start to finish, they have the softest schedule. In addition to having the easiest overall schedule, MiniWieners also has the second-easiest first four games of the season.

Draft Notes

  • A Triumvirate of Talent

MiniWieners has three above-average positions on their roster (TE, DEF, and QB).

  • Separating the Wheat from the Chaff

MiniWieners drafted top-3 players at a trio of different positions (Tom Brady, Antonio Brown, and Kansas City).

  • Up and Comers

Assembling a squad of rising stars is key to fantasy success and MiniWieners may have done just that, with four players estimated to top their prior-season numbers by a substantial amount.

  • Drink Plenty of Milk

With an average of 7.4 years of NFL experience, MiniWieners has the greatest chance of losing a player to osteoporosis.

  • A Pair of Proven Winners

MiniWieners has a couple of fantasy MVPs in their lineup. Last season, two of their players (Antonio Brown and Tom Brady) finished among the top-20 players that were on the most first-place fantasy teams.

  • Full Control Early On

MiniWieners began things with a bang, nabbing the most projected points in the league during the draft's first half.

Player Analysis

    • Antonio Brown, WR
    • Round 1, Pick 3
    Ask And You Shall Receive

Frequently the No. 1 overall pick last year, Brown lived up to the hype. Among all wide receivers, only Mike Evans and Jordy Nelson appeared on more championship rosters than Brown last season.

    • Todd Gurley, RB
    • Round 2, Pick 22
    Feed Thy Beast

Todd Gurley will get the ball early and often, and he's projected to finish fourth in the league with 307 touches.

    • Tom Brady, QB
    • Round 3, Pick 27
    Bravo, Brady

For the second consecutive season, Tom appeared on more first-place fantasy rosters than any other QB. Over that 28-game stretch, he's averaged 297.3 yards, 2.3 TDs, and 0.3 INTs per outing.

    • Allen Robinson, WR
    • Round 4, Pick 46
    Rethinking That One

While drafted 46th overall, Allen Robinson isn't projected among the NFL's top-20 in either receiving TDs (28th with 7.7) or receiving yards (22nd with 1,040).

    • Greg Olsen, TE
    • Round 5, Pick 51
    Red Zone Regression

After eight straight seasons of recording five or more touchdowns, Olsen reeled in just three last year. MiniWieners expects a return to the norm in 2017.

Best Available

With three below-average positions on MiniWieners, K and RB are expected to be the worst of those potential areas of need.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
