Before the draft, no one would have expected this squad to end up with a projected finish of first. DIDDY turned the seventh overall pick into a season potentially filled with success. They're expected to finish 9-3-1 (1,452 points) in Hiawatha Premier League. RB depth won't be the issue this season as DIDDY loaded up, drafting Melvin Gordon (7th overall), Leonard Fournette (18th), and Dalvin Cook (31st) with their first three selections. This group will have to produce in order for DIDDY to have a good season, as they are one of the best sets of RBs in the league.
DIDDY should just disappear for a while during Week 8. They have four players and the most projected fantasy points on bye that week. Based on their opponents' projected points, they have one of the weakest slates. Along with having the second-easiest overall schedule, DIDDY has the easiest first four games of the season.
Draft Notes
-
Up and Comers
Assembling a squad of rising stars is key to fantasy success and DIDDY may have done just that, with four players estimated to top their prior-season numbers by a substantial amount.
-
Risky Business
It appears that DIDDY likes to gamble, as they took chances on eight volatile selections.
-
A Pair of Proven Winners
DIDDY has a couple of fantasy MVPs in their lineup. Last season, two of their players (Melvin Gordon and Tom Brady) finished among the top-20 players that were on the most first-place fantasy teams.
-
You Snooze, You Lose
While the rest of the league slept on D'Onta Foreman, DIDDY pounced on him at pick No. 162.
-
Digging Deep
D'Onta Foreman is owned in only 1% of all Yahoo! leagues, but will surely reward DIDDY for their faith! Or not.
Player Analysis
-
- Melvin Gordon, RB
- Round 1, Pick 7
Melvin Gordon Doesn't Read the PlaybookThe playbook reads him. DIDDY should be in decent shape if Gordon gets his 298 projected touches this year.
-
- L. Fournette, RB
- Round 2, Pick 18
Bloated BackfieldThere's no doubt that ball-carriers were the top priority for DIDDY, as they went RB-RB-RB to start the draft.
-
- Dalvin Cook, RB
- Round 3, Pick 31
Apparently ADP is OverratedWith their third-round pick, DIDDY pulled the trigger. They took Dalvin Cook at pick number 31 despite an ADP of just 64.1 across all Yahoo! leagues.
-
- Tom Brady, QB
- Round 4, Pick 42
Better Lucky Than Good? The rest of Hiawatha Premier League overlooked a gem, and DIDDY made the highest value pick of the round by taking Tom Brady.
-
- Sammy Watkins, WR
- Round 5, Pick 55
Milk Was a Bad ChoiceAnd so was drafting Sammy Watkins, the weakest value of the round.
Best Available
DIDDY could potentially upgrade TE and WR, but TE is the position they'll want to focus on first.

How We Grade
Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
