Whether or not The Goodell Gestapo was talking trash in the draft chat room is irrelevant and you have no proof. What there is proof of, though, is a dominant draft performance by The Goodell Gestapo that led to a season projection of 11-2-0 (29,849 points) and a first-place finish in Silver and Black Attack League. They were quick to snag signal-callers, using two of their first four picks to grab QBs Drew Brees (second round) and Carson Palmer (fourth round). They also landed the highest-scoring group of WRs in the league, as they have Odell Beckham Jr., Tyler Lockett, Markus Wheaton, and Jeremy Maclin for their rotation.

The Goodell Gestapo should use Week 5 to finally build that mini trainyard. Really just about anything other than checking fantasy football will do. They have four players and the most projected fantasy points on bye that week. Based on their opponents' projected points, they have a more-difficult-than-average slate. Along with the fourth-most grueling overall schedule, both the first four games and last four games of the season are pretty average for The Goodell Gestapo.

Draft Notes

  • Nearly There

The top half of the The Goodell Gestapo roster is one of the strongest in the league (ranked No. 1). However, the bottom of the roster is among the weakest (ranked No. 7).

  • Team of Champions

The Goodell Gestapo is rocking a team of fantasy MVPs. Last season, four of their players were among the top-20 players that were on the most first-place fantasy rosters, including Odell Beckham Jr., Devonta Freeman, and Carson Palmer.

  • Beginning with a Bang

The Goodell Gestapo got off to a sizzling start, amassing the most projected points in the league during the first half of the draft.

  • The Heist Is On

The other league managers passed over a diamond in the rough. According to ADP, The Goodell Gestapo got a steal in snatching Jeremy Maclin in the 11th round (83rd overall pick vs. ADP of 51.2).

  • Is His Jersey Made of Honey?

Because the projections for Ameer Abdullah are sweet! He's projected to be the eighth-best RB in the league this season.

  • Returning to Greatness

If special teams contributions count in Silver and Black Attack League, The Goodell Gestapo may have found a gem in Ameer Abdullah. Including his 596 projected return yards, he ranks seventh in the league with 1,543 all-purpose yards.

Player Analysis

    • O. Beckham Jr., WR
    • Round 1, Pick 3
Does Odell Beckham Jr. Enjoy Gourmet Cuisine?

Because his all-purpose yardage projections are tasty. Beckham Jr. is ranked eighth in the league with 1,537 all-purpose yards.

    • Drew Brees, QB
    • Round 2, Pick 14
The Goodell Gestapo is No Photographer

But they can picture a fantasy championship with Drew Brees projected to put up 6,543 points this year.

    • D. Freeman, RB
    • Round 3, Pick 19
    Stolen In Broad Daylight

Devonta Freeman was the best value pick of the round and could be the cause of many sleepless nights for the other managers.

    • Carson Palmer, QB
    • Round 4, Pick 30
    Earning His Keep

Projections have Carson Palmer finishing with 29.8 passing TDs and 4,456 yards, good enough to rank him at fifth and seventh respectively.

    • J. Langford, RB
    • Round 6, Pick 46
    Trigger Happy

With their sixth-round pick, The Goodell Gestapo pulled the trigger. They drafted Jeremy Langford at pick number 46 despite an ADP of just 85 across all Yahoo! leagues.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
