This draft by Progressive Nuts was like a finely tuned Peyton Manning-led offense, with all the pieces falling into place. Just like Peyton's offense, Progressive Nuts is expected to score a lot of points this season and finish second in NEXT FFL League at 10-3-0 (1,264 points). If they have a bad season, it won't be due to a lack of wide receivers, as they used three of their first five selections to pick up WRs Demaryius Thomas (first round), Roddy White (fourth round), and Emmanuel Sanders (fifth round). If these players can play up to expectations, Progressive Nuts can have some success. They are one of the highest-scoring WR tandems in the league.

Progressive Nuts should use Week 4 to consider life's deeper mysteries, like why do we park in a driveway but drive on a parkway? It will be better to think about that than to check fantasy football. They have four players and the most projected fantasy points on bye that week. Looking at the season as a whole, they have the easiest schedule. Corresponding with the easiest overall schedule, Progressive Nuts also has the easiest first four games of the season.

Draft Notes

  • Separating the Wheat from the Chaff

At three different positions, Progressive Nuts picked up projected top-3 players (Demaryius Thomas, Dan Bailey, and Cleveland).

  • On the Rise

Progressive Nuts hopes to break through this season, led by six players who are projected to significantly exceed their fantasy points from last season.

  • You Snooze, You Lose

While the rest of the league slept on Mark Ingram, Progressive Nuts pounced on him at pick No. 136.

  • No Back-Up No Cry

Ignoring roster depth, Progressive Nuts chose only one player at three different positions (TE, DEF, and K).

Player Analysis

    • D. Thomas, WR
    • Round 1, Pick 9
    Hands Team

With sticky hands that would make Spider-Man jealous, Demaryius Thomas has serious value in all PPR leagues. He's projected to catch an NFL-leading 107 balls this year.

    • Doug Martin, RB
    • Round 2, Pick 16
    Does Doug Martin Enjoy Fajitas?

Because his all-purpose yardage figures are sizzling. Martin is projected to rank 10th in the league with 1,501 total yards.

    • Shane Vereen, RB
    • Round 3, Pick 33
    A Versatile Combination

Shane Vereen can hurt opponents with his hands as well as his feet. He ranks first among RBs in projected receiving yards with 596.

    • E. Sanders, WR
    • Round 5, Pick 57
    A Bit of a Reach

Progressive Nuts went out on a limb with their fifth-round pick. Across all Yahoo! leagues, Emmanuel Sanders has an ADP of 97.7, but he was grabbed at pick No. 57. Patience is a virtue, Progressive Nuts.

    • Jay Cutler, QB
    • Round 6, Pick 64
Was Jay Cutler Worth it at Pick No. 64?

Progressive Nuts sure hopes so. The Bears' signal-caller is projected to put up 230 points this year, after only netting 143 last season.

Best Available

Progressive Nuts is projected to have a pair of subpar positions (QB and TE), but QB is clearly their worst unit and an area that will likely need an upgrade.

    • Joe Flacco
    • Rank 147, ADP 125
    • Alex Smith
    • Rank 150, ADP 124
    • Eli Manning
    • Rank 151, ADP 132
    • Johnny Manziel
    • Rank 171, ADP 131

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
