  • Pittsburgh declines 2025 option
The Steelers declined their 2025 option on Harris' contract, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: This comes as somewhat of a surprise after Harris has posted three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons since being selected 24th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. Most impressively, Harris has never missed a game at a position that sees so many injuries. He's been a model of toughness and durability, even if the stats haven't particularly jumped off the page with a career 3.9 yards-per-carry average. Harris, however, did rush for a career-best eight touchdowns last season, averaging a three year-best 4.1 yards per carry. Harris is now tentatively schedule to hit free agency next March, though Adam Schefter of ESPN notes that the Steelers aren't ruling out reaching a deal with the 26-year-old running back before then. • Pierce will ‘be a big part’ of what Texans do
During an appearance on SportsRadio 610, Texans GM Nick Caserio said Dameon Pierce will “be a big part of what we’re doing” this season.

Advice: Anything is possible, but this is a tough one to buy into. In his second year in the league, Pierce lost his starting gig to Devin Singletary and finished the year with a 145-416-2 line while averaging 2.9 YPC — a number that feels almost impossible for any running back to hit. The Texans didn’t bring back Singletary, instead opting to trade for Joe Mixon on March 13th and sign him to a three-year, $27 million extension through 2026. Pierce will undoubtedly get his opportunities, but it’s hard to envision many meaningful snaps as long as Mixon is healthy and producing at the level they’re hoping for. Rotoworld Today, 11:01 am

  • Berry: Chubb (knee) ‘progressing nicely’
Browns GM Andrew Berry said Nick Chubb (knee) is “progressing nicely” in his recovery from his knee injury.

Advice: Berry also noted that Chubb “still has a long way to go.” Chubb continues to work his way back from a brutal knee injury he suffered in Week 2 against the Steelers. The Browns didn’t address running back in the draft but did add veterans D’Onta Foreman and Nyheim Hines earlier this offseason. Reports on Chubb have often been good, with the last coming a few weeks ago when the team announced he had resumed running. Whether or not Chubb is ready for training camp is to be determined, but all signs continue to point in the right direction. Rotoworld Today, 10:18 am

  • Role with team TBD
Smith-Schuster's role with Patriots is unclear after the team selected a pair of wideouts in the 2024 NFL Draft, Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: Over the course of 11 regular-season games in his first year with the Patriots, Smith-Schuster recorded a 29-260-1 receiving line on 47 targets in 2023. Though the veteran wideout -- who is under contract with the team through 2025 -- is presumably past the ankle issue that landed him on IR in December -- New England's additions of free agent K.J. Osborn and 2024 draftees (second-rounder Ja'Lynn Polk and fourth-rounder Javon Baker) to a wide receiver mix that also includes returnees Kendrick Bourne (knee) and Demario Douglas, clouds Smith-Schuster's depth chart standing ahead of training camp. With that in mind, both Callahan and Chad Graff of The Athletic suggest that the 27-year-old pass-catcher could end up moving on as the offseason progresses. Rotowire.com Today, 10:11 am

  • Caserio: Tank Dell ‘doing great’ with recovery
Texans GM Nick Caserio said Tank Dell is “doing great” after suffering a “minor” gunshot wound.

Advice: Dell was shot during an altercation in Sanford, Florida, last week and suffered a “minor wound.” He was treated and released from the hospital shortly after, and Caserio said he has “been in and out of the building” since then. With that seeming to be behind him, Dell is also working his way back from a fractured fibula suffered in Week 13 but is expected to be ready in time for the start of the season. Dell posted a 47-709-7 line in 11 games but will face more target competition in 2024 with Stefon Diggs now in town. He should have fringe WR2/WR3 upside in a load receiver room, but is capable of turning in a top-12 week at a moment’s notice. Rotoworld Today, 8:46 am
