    • Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins (illness) returned to practice on Friday.
Advice: Hopkins missed Thursday's practice with the illness, but was never expected to miss the Texans' matchup with the Giants. He is a high-upside WR4 this week.

    • DeAndre Hopkins missed Thursday's practice with illness, but is in no danger of missing Week 3.
Advice: Hopkins will be a high-upside WR4 against the Giants.

    • DeAndre Hopkins secured 3-of-5 targets for 22 yards and a touchdown in the Texans' Week 2 win over the Raiders.
Advice: Hopkins' TD came on a back-shoulder throw by Ryan Fitzpatrick on the right side of the end zone. The sophomore wideout has two touchdowns through two games, but that's an unsustainable pace, and Hopkins' usage has been that of no more than a lower-end WR3. He'll be a dicey fantasy play against the Giants next week.

    • Sammy Watkins (ribs) is listed as probable for Week 3.
Advice: Watkins has practiced in full the last two weeks, but is still not completely over his rib issue. Coming off a breakout 8/117/1 line, he's an upside WR3 against the Chargers.

    • Sammy Watkins (ribs) is practicing in full for Week 3.
Advice: Watkins had to come off the field multiple times in Week 2, but didn't have any setbacks. He's an upside WR3 for Sunday's matchup with the Chargers.

    • Sammy Watkins had eight catches for 117 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's Week 2 win over Miami.
Advice: The Bills got Watkins more involved this week after he was held to three catches in the opener. He was targeted 11 times, and accounted for over half of E.J. Manuel's passing yards. Watkins played at less than 100 percent and is still not completely over his rib issue. He finished the game without any setbacks, but could miss practice time. As the clear No. 1 option in Buffalo's offense, Watkins is a WR3 with upside for Week 3.

    • Sammy Watkins (ribs) is probable for Week 2 against the Dolphins.
Advice: Watkins isn't 100 percent over his preseason ribs injury, but he's pretty close. The No. 4 overall pick is on the very back end of the WR4 map this week.

    • Sammy Watkins (ribs) is practicing in full for Week 2.
Advice: Watkins remains on the injury report, but avoided setbacks in Sunday's win over the Bears. He's good to go as a WR4.

    • Cecil Shorts (hamstring) is probable for Week 3 against the Colts.
Advice: Allen Hurns (ankle) is also listed as probable. Both players practiced in full Friday. With Marqise Lee (hamstring) out, look for Shorts and Hurns to open as the starters. Allen Robinson will be serve as the No. 3 receiver. With Chad Henne still under center, it's hard to trust any of these guys as more than WR4/5 plays. For Shorts' sake, hopefully he can avoid setbacks with his balky hamstring.

    • Cecil Shorts (hamstring) remained limited on Thursday.
Advice: Per coach Gus Bradley, Shorts "continues to look good." It sounds like he'll be active for Sunday's game against the Colts, but fantasy owners can't be comfortable with Shorts' recent injury history. He'll be a WR5 at risk of going down.

    • Cecil Shorts (hamstring) returned to a limited practice Wednesday.
Advice: That's the good news for the Jaguars. The bad news is that Marqise Lee was forced to leave practice early after re-tweaking his hamstring injury from last week. Both should be considered highly questionable for Week 3 against the Colts. UDFA Allen Hurns (ankle) missed practice altogether on Wednesday. If none of the three can play, Allen Robinson and Mike Brown would be the starters.

    • Cecil Shorts (hamstring) says he will return to practice Wednesday.
Advice: The Jaguars could use Shorts after Allen Hurns and Marqise Lee both laid eggs in Sunday's loss to Washington, dropping several passes and blowing assignments. "I'll be practicing Wednesday," Shorts said. "It felt good running around today. I sprinted, so I'll give it a go on Wednesday." With Shorts back, either Lee or Hurns may lose his job. Allen Robinson is also on the rise after turning six targets into four catches and 75 yards the Skins.

    • Jaguars declared Cecil Shorts (hamstring) inactive for Sunday's game at Washington
Advice: Shorts made the trip, but never had a realistic shot to play as he deals with yet another soft-tissue injury. We'd consider him very questionable for the Week 3 game against the Colts. It leaves the Jags with Allen Hurns and Marqise Lee as their starting wideouts again, and both are on the WR4 radar against a leaky Redskins secondary. The rest of the Jaguars inactives: SS Johnathan Cyprien, OT Austin Pasztor, RB Storm Johnson, TE Clay Harbor, OG Tyler Shatley and OT Josh Wells.

    • Cecil Shorts (doubtful, hamstring) is expected to travel with the Jaguars for their Week 2 matchup with Washington.
Advice: Shorts was limited in practice on Wednesday, but has not practiced since. He is still extremely doubtful to suit up against the Redskins. Allen Hurns and Marqise Lee should be the Jaguars starting wide receivers on Sunday.

    • Cecil Shorts (doubtful, hamstring) did not practice Friday.
Advice: He won't play this week against the Redskins. Shorts is out indefinitely.

    • Speaking Thursday, Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said it "(wasn't) exactly good" that Cecil Shorts was downgraded to DNP after being limited on Wednesday.
Advice: "I'm not sure what's going to happen from here on, but we'll see how it goes," Shorts said afterward. It sounds like Shorts can be safely ruled out for Week 2, but Bradley said injured reserve/designated to return has yet to be discussed as a possibility. Shorts simply can't get his leg healthy, and could need a multi-week absence to get in shape.

    • Cecil Shorts (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday on a limited basis.
Advice: While the Jaguars got good news with Shorts back on the field, they lost Marqise Lee to a pulled hamstring on the same day. The rookie was unable to finish practice. Shorts' status remains unclear for Week 2, as he's been known to take a while to recover from soft-tissue injuries. It'll be the Allen Hurns show again this week if neither Shorts nor Lee can play. Either Mike Brown or rookie Allen Robinson would be the No. 2. Brown played ahead of Robinson in Week 1.
