    • Cal McNair: Tank Dell to make ‘full recovery’
      Texans owner Cal McNair said WR Tank Dell will make a full recovery from his gunshot wound.

      Advice: Dell was struck by a bullet and sustained a “minor gunshot wound” while attending a private event in late April. He was treated for the injury at a local hospital and released shortly after. McNair’s words seem to confirm previous reports that the wound would not place either his rehab or 2024 season in jeopardy. Dell is working his way back from a fibula fracture in Week 13 a season ago but is expected to be ready for the start of the coming season.     • Officially lands with Carolina
      The Panthers agreed to terms with Penny on Monday.

      Advice: Penny is now 28 years old and spent last season in Philadelphia, where he appeared in just three regular-season games and was routinely a healthy scratch on game days. When healthy in Seattle from 2018-2022, he was electric with the ball in his hands, averaging a lethal 5.7 yards per carry on 337 rushing attempts, but an inability to stay on the field was his downfall. He has a history with new Panthers coach Dave Canales from their time together in Seattle, and Penny gives the Panthers backfield some more experience behind Chuba Hubbard and rookie Jonathon Brooks.       Advice: Wilson may be a favorite of coach Mike McDaniel, but the 28-year-old nonetheless faces a difficult path to earning a roster spot if the three aforementioned RBs stay healthy this summer. With those three being roster locks, the Dolphins may end up having Wilson, Salvon Ahmed and Chris Brooks competing for one or two spots on the practice squad.       Advice: Guyton is coming off a 2023 season in which a leg injury forced him to spend the first eight games on the PUP list, and he ended the next eight contests with a disappointing total of 10 catches (on 21 targets) for 89 yards and a touchdown. In the past, Guyton has been a serviceable deep threat, having put up a career-best 31-448-3 line on 48 targets back in 2021.     • Should be in mix for steady targets
      Robinson could challenge for the team lead in targets even though the Giants took Malik Nabers with the sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, according to Dan Salomone and Matt Citak of the team's official site.

      Advice: The three writers surveyed from Giants.com all agreed Nabers is a favorite to lead the team in targets, with two of the three mentioning Robinson as a candidate to give the rookie a run for his money. A 2022 second-round pick, Robinson got 31 targets on 164 routes (18.9 percent) his rookie year before he suffered an ACL tear, then had 78 looks on 490 routes (15.9 percent) last season. While he's never drawn targets at a particularly high rate, he did have a decent run of production after New York's Week 13 bye last season, averaging 4.8 catches for 52.0 yards over the final five games while taking three carries for 60 yards and a TD. A healthy offseason without rehab from major surgery should help the 23-year-old improve in 2024, though he may still be largely limited to the slot and is both smaller and slower than Nabers. The Giants' other wide receivers -- Darius Slayton, Jalin Hyatt, Isaiah Hodgins, Isaiah McKenzie, etc. -- are all guys that wouldn't be likely to see too many targets even if they got a lot of playing time.       Raiders signed WR Jalen Guyton, formerly of the Chargers.

      Advice: Guyton joins a relatively crowded receiver room. Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers are locked for their typical roles and second-year receiver Tre Tucker is also expected to take another step forward. Couple all of this with the fact they recently signed Michael Gallup, and it’s hard to imagine Guyton earning anything more than a backup role. He spent the majority of his time as a backup while with the Chargers, often keeping opposing secondaries on their toes while sprinting repeatedly downfield. Guyton has played in 46 games over his five-year career and has a receiving line of 71-1112-7.       Panthers are expected to sign RB Rashaad Penny, formerly of the Eagles.

      Advice: Things couldn’t have gone much worse for Penny or his fantasy managers in 2023. The former first-round pick signed a one-year deal with the Eagles last offseason and was expected to compete for touches in a shared backfield with D’Andre Swift and Kenneth Gainwell. Instead, Penny spent most of his weeks as a healthy scratch, amassing just 38 yards from scrimmage on 12 touches.
