    • Signing four-year extension
Jefferson and the Vikings have reached agreement on a four-year extensions, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Advice: Schefter and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network both are reporting it as a four-year, $140 million contract with $110 million guaranteed, giving Jefferson the new record for average annual value ($35 million) among non-QBs. He'll turn 25 in mid-June and already has 5,899 career receiving yards, with his average of 98.3 per game easily being the all-time record (Calvin Johnson is second at 86.1). Jefferson will enter a season without Kirk Cousins as his quarterback for the first time, instead catching passes from 10th overall pick J.J. McCarthy and/or Sam Darnold. Rotowire.com Today, 6:30 am

    • Vikings give Justin Jefferson $140M extension
Vikings signed Justin Jefferson to a four-year, $140 million contract extension.

Advice: Jefferson is now the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. His $140 million extension includes $110 million in guaranteed money and an AAV of $35 million. Jefferson, 24, has arguably been the best receiver in the league since being drafted No. 22 overall in 2020, racking up 392 receptions for 5,899 yards and 30 touchdowns over his first four seasons. His 5,899 yards are the most by any receiver in league history through their first four seasons, and he’s one of just five receivers to surpass 5,000 yards over that same span. Jefferson is now under contract through 2028 and will be in line for another lucrative deal after his age-29 season. His deal all but sets the market for guys like Ja’Marr Chase, CeeDee Lamb, and Tee Higgins, who are also in search of new deals from their respective teams. Rotoworld Today, 6:20 am

    • Fowler: Aiyuk eyeing contract similar to ARSB
Speaking on NFL Live, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said “the benchmark” for a Brandon Aiyuk contract extension “is Amon-Ra St. Brown.”

Advice: Fowler went on to point out that St. Brown is getting $28 million per year on his new four-year deal, adding that Aiyuk “doesn’t have to be the highest paid [wide receiver] in the league” but that he thinks he deserves to be paid like a top wide receiver. Aiyuk has totaled back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons for the 49ers and went for a career-high 1,342 yards in 2023 while scoring seven touchdowns. He’s currently set to earn $14.124 million in 2024 after the 49ers picked up his fifth-year option, but is hoping to get long-term security before the start of the season. It was reported earlier this month by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport that the 49ers are planning on keeping Aiyuk for the long term, meaning an extension could be coming before Week 1. Aiyuk has not been present at voluntary OTAs. Rotoworld May 24, 3:40 pm
