The big-bodied veteran was released by Jacksonville after the team's selection of Brian Thomas in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, but he now finds a landing spot in the desert with a clear spot to starting in three-wide sets. No. 4 overall pick Marvin Harrison profiles as the alpha in Arizona's wideout room, while tight end Trey McBride could be quarterback Kyler Murray's second most trusted playmaker, but Jones could well solidify himself over Michael Wilson.     Cardinals signed WR Zay Jones, formerly of the Jaguars.

    Advice: Jones visited with several teams, including the Titans, Chiefs, and Cowboys, before ultimately joining the Cardinals. The former second-round pick was released by the Jaguars earlier this month after the team drafted LSU’s Brian Thomas Jr. in the first round but has been a coveted receiver on the open market. When he was at his best, Jones turned in an 82-823-5 season with the Jaguars in 2022, but injuries limited him to just nine games and a line of 34-321-2 in 2023. Playing primarily as an outside receiver, Jones should have no trouble earning a role opposite rookie Marvin Harrison Jr. Second-year receiver Michael Wilson could also challenge Jones for snaps, but the rest of the receiver room is relatively thin in Arizona.     Advice: The 2017 fourth-round pick was an effective passing-down back and punt returner for three full seasons before suffering an ACL tear Week 3 of 2020. He hasn't played in a game since, with an Achilles' tear in May 2022 further setting him back. Cohen spent most of last season on Carolina's practice squad, where he dealt with a hamstring injury for nearly two months and never earned a promotion to the roster.     Coach Doug Pederson said Friday that Davis (knee) is dealing an injury and hasn't been able to do much on-field work since signing with the Jaguars, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.

    Advice: Pederson said Davis, who missed the playoffs last season due to a knee injury suffered Week 18 against the Dolphins, continues to recover from an injury from 2023. He then said the Jaguars' wide receiver picture will become clearer in OTAs. It doesn't sound like there's any real concern about Davis' availability, but fantasy managers would certainly prefer to hear he gets back on the field and starts establishing a rapport with Trevor Lawrence sooner than later. Even with both Calvin Ridley and Zay Jones no longer in Jacksonville, Christian Kirk and rookie first-round pick Brian Thomas represent significant competition for target volume.     Advice: Cohen hasn’t taken a regular season snap since 2020, when his season ended with a torn ACL. A torn Achilles in 2022 ended his comeback attempt, but he was able to catch on with the Panthers last September and spent the remainder of the season on their practice squad. He now finds himself without a job after that nine-month stint. Set to turn 29 before the start of the season; it will be interesting to see if another team takes a shot on the vet.   • Rams don’t want to ‘totally run down’ Williams
    Rams GM Les Snead says the team doesn’t want to “totally run down” Kyren Williams this season.

    Advice: This quote comes from Snead justifying the selection of Blake Corum in the third round of this year’s draft. Snead said the similarities between the two backs made Corum a desired pick and added that the team felt like they “need to have as many quality runners as possible” due to a 17-game season that could soon move to an 18-game season. For now, it sounds like Williams’ role as the team’s RB1 is secure, but fantasy managers expecting another 37 percent opportunity share, or 68 percent rushing market share, should adjust those expectations. It sounds like Corum will have a chance to contribute meaningful snaps early in the season and could stand to vulture valuable fantasy points from Williams this season.   • Titans RBs coach praises Pollard, Spears’ hands
    Titans RBs coach Randy Jordan praised both Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears’ pass catching.

    Advice: “The thing I love about them is they can catch the football,” Jordan gushed. “They can turn a check down into a big play.” Jordan’s answer was in response to a question about how he might divvy up touches between his top-two backs. Although it doesn’t really clear things up from a fantasy perspective, Jordan is not wrong. It also hints the Titans and new coach/ex-Bengals assistant Brian Callahan will very much carry over the Bengals’ penchant for involving the running back in the passing game. Pollard is currently the RB25 on Underdog, with Spears checking in as the RB38. Spears is probably the more appealing option at that ADP since the Titans might be sincere about treating the backs as interchangeable, especially on some of the most important fantasy downs.
