    Panthers released RB Tarik Cohen.

    Advice: Cohen hasn’t taken a regular season snap since 2020, when his season ended with a torn ACL. A torn Achilles in 2022 ended his comeback attempt, but he was able to catch on with the Panthers last September and spent the remainder of the season on their practice squad. He now finds himself without a job after that nine-month stint. Set to turn 29 before the start of the season; it will be interesting to see if another team takes a shot on the vet.   • Rams don’t want to ‘totally run down’ Williams
    Rams GM Les Snead says the team doesn’t want to “totally run down” Kyren Williams this season.

    Advice: This quote comes from Snead justifying the selection of Blake Corum in the third round of this year’s draft. Snead said the similarities between the two backs made Corum a desired pick and added that the team felt like they “need to have as many quality runners as possible” due to a 17-game season that could soon move to an 18-game season. For now, it sounds like Williams’ role as the team’s RB1 is secure, but fantasy managers expecting another 37 percent opportunity share, or 68 percent rushing market share, should adjust those expectations. It sounds like Corum will have a chance to contribute meaningful snaps early in the season and could stand to vulture valuable fantasy points from Williams this season.     Advice: Brown played in six games as a rookie in 2022, serving exclusively on special teams. His 2023 campaign ended abruptly after he was placed on injured reserve with an undisclosed issue at the close of training camp, but he'll seemingly enter the new campaign without any lingering issues.     Advice: Adkins appeared in 10 games for the Broncos in 2023, though he exited Week 18 early with a hamstring injury. Presumably healthy again, he'll look to maintain a spot on the roster as a primarily a special-teams contributor.   • Titans RBs coach praises Pollard, Spears’ hands
    Titans RBs coach Randy Jordan praised both Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears’ pass catching.

    Advice: “The thing I love about them is they can catch the football,” Jordan gushed. “They can turn a check down into a big play.” Jordan’s answer was in response to a question about how he might divvy up touches between his top-two backs. Although it doesn’t really clear things up from a fantasy perspective, Jordan is not wrong. It also hints the Titans and new coach/ex-Bengals assistant Brian Callahan will very much carry over the Bengals’ penchant for involving the running back in the passing game. Pollard is currently the RB25 on Underdog, with Spears checking in as the RB38. Spears is probably the more appealing option at that ADP since the Titans might be sincere about treating the backs as interchangeable, especially on some of the most important fantasy downs.   • Still has role in crowded WR room
    Coach Brian Callahan said Thursday that Burks still has a role in Tennessee's wide receiver corps after the team's signing of veteran slot specialist Tyler Boyd, Nick Suss of the Nashville Tennessean reports.

    Advice: Callahan said of Burks' offseason "the work that he's put in has been really impressive," per Turron Davenport of ESPN, but the 2022 first-round pick may nonetheless have slid to No. 4 on the depth chart following Boyd's arrival, with Calvin Ridley and DeAndre Hopkins entrenched as Will Levis' clear top targets. The 225-pound wideout could still certainly have untapped potential, as he's battled injuries throughout the first two years of his NFL career, but his path to consistent opportunities has grown murkier despite Tennessee most ignoring the WR position in April's draft. For fantasy purposes, at least, Burks' prospects for 2024 will look dim if he's not able to beat out Boyd for the No. 3 role in training camp.   • Titans anticipate a ‘good role’ for Treylon Burks
    Titans HC Brian Callahan said the team still anticipates a “good role” for Treylon Burks.

    Advice: According to Callahan, the signing of Tyler Boyd didn’t have anything to do with Burks’ performance, or lack thereof — which he shared with Burks after the signing. Regardless of what Boyd’s signing means for Burks, it’s hard to overlook his familiarity with Callahan’s system and the fact that he’s a veteran who has provided multiple years of high-end production. In addition to Boyd, Burks also has to find a way to earn targets with DeAndre Hopkins and Calvin Ridley both on the roster. Burks has dealt with injuries throughout his brief career and has a career receiving line of 49-665-1, spanning over 22 career games. It’s difficult to imagine Burks earning enough opportunities to become fantasy-relevant in 2024, but time will tell as we begin to learn more about how he’s being used in training camp.     Hull (knee) appears set to compete with Trey Sermon for the backup role behind starter Jonathan Taylor this offseason, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.

    Advice: Hull is back to full health after a knee injury limited him to just one appearance as a rookie in 2023, per Paul Bretl of USA Today. After Zack Moss was able to thrive as the backup to Taylor in 2023, fantasy managers will want to keep an eye on which of Hull and Sermon managers to show out better in training camp and preseason action.   • Houston swoops in for trade
    The Rams have agreed to trade Skowronek, who was slated to be waived Thursday, to the Texans, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports.

    Advice: Los Angeles informed Skowronek that he would hit waivers Thursday, but the Texans came calling before the transaction could become official. A 2021 seventh-round pick, Skowronek was mostly limited to special teams in 2023, but he racked up 376 receiving yards on 39 back in 2022, while demonstrating the versatility to line up across multiple formations. Now, Skowronek will face the challenge of competing with the likes of Robert Woods, John Metchie and Noah Brown (shoulder) for a depth role in Houston's crowded wide receiver corps.
