• Lamb and Cowboys to ‘speed up’ negotiations
CBS Sports’ Josina Anderson reports the Cowboys and CeeDee Lamb “are expected to ‘speed up’” contract negotiations after Justin Jefferson received a four-year, $140 million extension from the Vikings.

Advice: Lamb hasn’t been present at voluntary OTAs as he eyes a contract extension before the start of the season. Last year’s receptions leader (135) is set to earn $17.991 million in the final year of his rookie deal, but with Jefferson’s $140 million extension now setting the market for other receivers, Lamb and the Cowboys now have a number to work within as they hope to hammer out a deal. The Cowboys are low on cap space and have to figure out new deals with Dak Prescott and Micah Parsons in the near future. A new deal with Lamb gets one big extension out of the way and allows Dallas to move on to other deals they need to work on. Rotoworld Today, 8:30 am

  • Expected back for training camp
Davis (knee) should be cleared for training camp, Zach Goodall of Jaguars Wire reports.

Advice: Jaguars coach Doug Pederson said Monday that he expects Davis and a fellow new addition, defensive lineman Arik Armstead (knee), to be ready for the start of training camp. The team signed Davis to a three-year, $39 million contract in March, shortly before losing Calvin Ridley to the Titans. Jacksonville then drafted WR Brian Thomas in the first round and released Zay Jones a few days laster. Davis and Christian Kirk are locked in for top-three WR roles and large snap counts, while Thomas has a bit more to prove but could ultimately become Trevor Lawrence's favorite downfield target. Davis suffered a PCL sprain Week 18 last season, causing him to miss both of Buffalo's playoff games and now all of Jacksonville's spring practices. Rotowire.com Today, 7:08 am

  • Signing four-year extension
Jefferson reached agreement with the Vikings on Monday on a four-year contract extension, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Advice: Schefter and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network both report Jefferson's deal as a four-year, $140 million contract with $110 million guaranteed, giving the wideout the new record for average annual value ($35 million) among non-quarterbacks. He'll turn 25 years old later this month and already has 5,899 career receiving yards, with his average of 98.3 per game easily being the all-time record (Calvin Johnson is second at 86.1). Jefferson will enter the 2024 season without Kirk Cousins as his quarterback for the first time, instead catching passes from 10th overall pick J.J. McCarthy and/or Sam Darnold. • Vikings give Justin Jefferson $140M extension
Vikings signed Justin Jefferson to a four-year, $140 million contract extension.

Advice: Jefferson is now the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. His $140 million extension includes $110 million in guaranteed money and an AAV of $35 million. Jefferson, 24, has arguably been the best receiver in the league since being drafted No. 22 overall in 2020, racking up 392 receptions for 5,899 yards and 30 touchdowns over his first four seasons. His 5,899 yards are the most by any receiver in league history through their first four seasons, and he’s one of just five receivers to surpass 5,000 yards over that same span. Jefferson is now under contract through 2028 and will be in line for another lucrative deal after his age-29 season. His deal all but sets the market for guys like Ja’Marr Chase, CeeDee Lamb, and Tee Higgins, who are also in search of new deals from their respective teams. Rotoworld Today, 6:20 am

  • Jags UDFA David White suffers torn ACL in OTAs
Jaguars WR David White Jr. suffered a torn ACL, ending his season.

Advice: White took to his Instagram on Sunday to announce the news. The rookie out of Western Carolina University, who totaled 819 yards and two receptions in his two seasons with the Catamounts, is expected to be placed on injured reserve and could have a chance to compete for a roster spot next season. • Allen Lazard’s roster spot in danger
ESPN’s Rich Cimini believes Jets WR Allen Lazard’s roster spot is in danger despite his $10 million guaranteed salary.

Advice: Cimini believes Lazard’s lack of special teams value could end up sealing his fate. He also reports Lazard looked “shaky” in the last OTA practice open to the media last week. This, after Lazard was frequently a healthy scratch down the stretch in 2023. It sounds like it’s time for the Jets to cut their losses on this one. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:50 am

  • Taking part in OTAs
Covey (knee) participated in the Eagles' offseason practice Thursday, per Glenn Erby of USA Today.

Advice: Covey had knee surgery in the offseason but appears to have recovered well given his ability to participate in the practice session. The 27-year-old is slated to work as Philadelphia's primary punt/kick returner in 2024 and should also see some limited work as a receiver in the team's passing game. Rotowire.com Friday, 4:57 pm

  • Suffers injury during OTAs
Olszewski appeared to hurt his foot and/or ankle during practice Thursday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Olszewski slipped while making a cut during on-field workouts and left practice early. It's unclear at this point how serious the injury may be. Olszewski worked primarily as a punt returner last season and should get an opportunity to handle that role again in 2024, though newcomer Isaiah McKenzie is also a candidate to take on those duties. • Odd man out with Slayton's return
Hodgins caught a lot of passes with the first-team offense last week but seems to be the odd man out now that Darius Slayton is at OTAs, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Slayton, Malik Nabers and Wan'Dale Robinson figure to be the top three wide receivers, leaving Hodgins to compete with Jalin Hyatt, Allen Robinson, Isaiah McKenzie and others for depth roles. It's hard to find a roster with more backup WRs that have starting experience in the NFL, but in Hodgins' case, he mostly got that opportunity because the Giants were so thin at his position the past two seasons. Now that they're in better shape -- at least at wide receiver -- he'll head to training camp without assurances of a Week 1 roster spot, after signing a one-year contract that includes only $325,000 guaranteed.
