Having the top pick in the draft doesn't guarantee a championship-caliber squad. In this case, however, it very well could. Prodigy did what elite fantasy footballers do when they land the No. 1 overall pick. They built a juggernaut. With Saquon Barkley and Nyheim Hines expected to combine for the highest point total of all starting RB groups in the league, Prodigy are predicted to finish in first place in PackerRats Thompson Division with a perfect mark of 14-0 (2,078 points).

  • Carlos Hyde

Biggest Steal: What a great late-round value for Prodigy, who picked up Hyde in the 15th round, about seven rounds later than his ADP of 124. After a season in which he rushed for 571 yards and 5 TDs and recorded 10 receptions for 33 yards in 14 games, totaling 98 fantasy points, Hyde is projected to score 115 fantasy points with the Chiefs. That makes him the No. 5 RB for this squad.

  • Jared Goff

Stretch Pick: You must have had an inside man when deciding to draft Goff with the 16th pick in the 4th round, about two rounds earlier than his ADP of 96. Projected to score 314 fantasy points this season with the Rams, he will aim to match last year when he threw for 4,688 yards and 32 TDs with 12 INTs to post 310 fantasy points. Goff will slot in as the No. 1 QB for Prodigy, based on projections.

Draft Notes

  • Prodigy face a difficult challenge in Week 6 when they have three players on a bye (Nyheim Hines, LeSean McCoy, and Jordy Nelson). Perhaps leveling the playing field, your Week 6 opponent -- VegasPackFan's Team -- will also be facing their worst bye week with five players on the sideline.

  • Going off projections, Prodigy have drawn a straightforward road in PackerRats Thompson Division this season with a strength of schedule rated as the easiest. Don't be mistaken, though, your work is just beginning. Light schedules can turn tricky at any time if you're not diligent.

  • It's clear that Prodigy focused on accumulating high-level talent, having drafted a fairly front-loaded squad. Collectively, the top players from each position are quite potent, slated to tally the highest point total in the league. The rest of the roster, on the other hand, is a bit less inspiring, as they're expected to combine for a point total ranking in the middle of the pack.

  • Prodigy waited until all of their individual offensive positions were filled before drafting RB Nyheim Hines with the 1st pick of the 7th round as the first flex player on the roster.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
