Thanks to a successful draft by the obviously skilled GM, The Happy Monks turned the not-so-favorable seventh overall pick into a projected finish of first. They're expected to go 14-1-0 (1,553 points) in GTPlanet FFL League. With five WRs on the roster, The Happy Monks has both quality and quantity at that spot; their WRs are projected to average 150 points this season, more than the league average of 135. They built the most prolific group of WRs in the league, as they have Antonio Brown, Calvin Johnson, Allen Robinson, and Michael Floyd on their team.

The Happy Monks should drop off the grid during Week 9. They have six players and the most projected fantasy points on bye that week. Taking a look at the entire season from start to finish, they have the least challenging schedule. Along with having the easiest overall schedule, The Happy Monks has the easiest first four games of the season.

Draft Notes

  • A Triumvirate of Talent

The Happy Monks has three above-average positions on their roster (WR, QB, and K).

  • In Like a Lion, Out Like a Lamb

The GM of The Happy Monks must have had to leave their draft party early. After tallying the most projected points in the league over the draft's first half, they racked up the fewest during the second half.

  • QB Controversy?

The Happy Monks may have to rely on a Ouija board each week. Their top-drafted QB (Russell Wilson) and second-drafted QB (Tom Brady) have fairly similar seasonal point projections.

  • Baltimore Ravens Fan?

The Happy Monks is a believer in the hopes of the Baltimore Ravens this season, grabbing a couple of players on that team sooner than their ADPs might suggest.

  • You Almost Got It Right

The top half of the The Happy Monks roster is one of the strongest in the league (projected to be No. 1). The bottom of the roster, unfortunately, is rated as the league's weakest.

  • Checked Out Early

The Happy Monks didn't exactly wrap up the draft on a high note, ending up with the fewest projected points in the league over the second half of the draft.

Player Analysis

    • Antonio Brown, WR
    • Round 1, Pick 7
The Happy Monks Just Landed a Target Machine

Joining Demaryius Thomas (184) as the only players to see 170+ targets last season, Brown never got fewer than nine looks in a game after Week 1, logging a grand total of 181.

    • Calvin Johnson, WR
    • Round 2, Pick 14
    The Power of Persuasion

Now would be a reasonable time for The Happy Monks to encourage the GTPlanet FFL League to raise the value of receptions. They snagged Calvin Johnson and his 89 projected catches (ranked eighth in the NFL).

    • Lamar Miller, RB
    • Round 3, Pick 27
    How Rebellious of You

The Happy Monks said 'no' to the tradition of fantasy drafting a RB early, waiting until the third round to pick up their first (Lamar Miller).

    • Russell Wilson, QB
    • Round 4, Pick 34
    Knowing When to Take Off

He won't get too flashy in the passing game, but the ability to create with his legs makes Wilson a legitimate threat to NFL defenses -- and to future fantasy opponents of The Happy Monks.

    • Tom Brady, QB
    • Round 5, Pick 47
    The Happy Monks's Stud Signal-Caller

Tom Brady is projected to rack up 298 points this year, enough to rank fifth among all QBs.

Best Available

While The Happy Monks is projected to have three subpar positions, TE is clearly their worst unit and should be upgraded first.

    • Ladarius Green
    • Rank 150, ADP 135
    • Larry Donnell
    • Rank 153, ADP 133
    • Benjamin Watson
    • Rank 173, ADP 123
    • Coby Fleener
    • Rank 174, ADP 123

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
