Although they got stuck with the 12th overall selection, Statistical Anomaly was unfazed, building a roster capable of dominating any team in Stampede Blue League 3. They're projected to finish with a record of 11-2-0 (2,030 points), placing them second. They stocked up on pass-catching weapons early on, using three of their first five selections to pick up WRs Demaryius Thomas (first round), Julio Jones (second round), and Julian Edelman (fourth round). These guys could be the key to the season for Statistical Anomaly, as they are the highest-scoring group of WRs in the league.

Whether by good fortune or well-planned strategy, Statistical Anomaly has secured a favorable bye week schedule for their superstars. Of their top five players in projected points, none share a common off week. Based on their opponents' projected points, they have one of the easiest schedules. Statistical Anomaly has the opportunity to close with a hot streak, as the last four games of their season are projected to be less difficult than the league average.

Draft Notes

  • Do the Dirty Bird

The fantasy hopes of Statistical Anomaly rest heavily on the fortunes of Atlanta, as they loaded up with four Falcons on their roster.

  • On Autopilot

Choosing which WRs to start should be pretty obvious most weeks for Statistical Anomaly, as projections show a healthy point difference between their third-ranked (Julian Edelman) and fourth-ranked (Doug Baldwin) wideouts.

  • Separating the Wheat from the Chaff

Statistical Anomaly drafted top-3 players at a trio of different positions (Julio Jones, Greg Olsen, and Demaryius Thomas).

  • Afraid to Step Outside Your Comfort Zone?

With eight "low-risk" players among their 16 picks, Statistical Anomaly is looking for dependable help.

  • Golden Handcuff

Statistical Anomaly hedged their bets by scooping up Tevin Coleman in the ninth round to back up Devonta Freeman, his Falcons teammate (a sixth-round selection).

  • Nearly There

The top half of the Statistical Anomaly roster is one of the strongest in the league (ranked No. 3). However, the bottom of the roster is among the weakest (ranked No. 9).

Player Analysis

    • D. Thomas, WR
    • Round 1, Pick 12
    The Man at Mile-High

Across all Yahoo! leagues, just three WRs (Brown, Sanders, Maclin) appeared more often on first-place rosters than Thomas last year.

    • Julio Jones, WR
    • Round 2, Pick 13
    Hopping for Julio

Jones was the lone NFL player to log 30 catches of at least 20 yards last season, and only Odell Beckham, Jr. averaged more receiving yards per game in 2014.

    • Greg Olsen, TE
    • Round 3, Pick 36
    Outstanding Olsen

Across all Yahoo! leagues, only one Tight End (Gronkowski) appeared on first-place rosters more often than Greg Olsen last year.

    • Julian Edelman, WR
    • Round 4, Pick 37
    The Power of Persuasion

Now would be a reasonable time for Statistical Anomaly to encourage the Stampede Blue League 3 League to raise the value of receptions. They snagged Julian Edelman and his 92 projected catches (ranked fifth in the NFL).

    • Tony Romo, QB
    • Round 5, Pick 60
    A Super Duper Signal-Caller

Tony Romo is projected to rack up 386 points this year, enough to rank fifth among all QBs.

Best Available

While Statistical Anomaly is projected to have three below-average positions, RB is clearly their worst unit and should be upgraded first.

    • Jay Ajayi
    • Rank 156, ADP 125
    • Fred Jackson
    • Rank 168, ADP 118
    • Darren Sproles
    • Rank 171, ADP 114
    • DeAngelo Williams
    • Rank 173, ADP 120

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
