The GM of FantasyGuru-Hansen took the first overall pick and handled it like a seasoned professional. After putting their sweet drafting skills on display for the rest of the league, they're left with a squad that's projected to finish second in Y! Friends and Family League with a record of 9-4-0 (1,945 points). The GM of FantasyGuru-Hansen obviously entered this draft knowing who their QB target was. They waited until the eighth round to pick their first quarterback, drafting Ryan Tannehill with the 112th overall pick. They built a legit group of WRs, as they have Antonio Brown, Sammy Watkins, Victor Cruz, and Michael Crabtree for their rotation.

FantasyGuru-Hansen should pick up a new hobby, like bird watching, during Week 11. They have four players and the most projected fantasy points on bye that week. Looking at the entire season, they have the least challenging schedule. In addition to having the easiest overall schedule, FantasyGuru-Hansen also has the softest last four games of the season.

Draft Notes

  • Shouldering the Burden

FantasyGuru-Hansen has four above-average positions with TE and DEF projected to lead the way.

  • Separating the Wheat from the Chaff

FantasyGuru-Hansen drafted top-3 players at a trio of different positions (Antonio Brown, Buffalo, and Greg Olsen).

  • Risk Averse

FantasyGuru-Hansen minimized risk by choosing seven consistent players among their 14 picks.

  • It's How You Finish

FantasyGuru-Hansen must have had a motivational halftime speech, accumulating the most projected points in the league over the second half of the draft.

  • My One and Only

Ignoring roster depth, FantasyGuru-Hansen chose only one player at three different positions (TE, DEF, and K).

  • FantasyGuru-Hansen Went All YOLO Here

Grabbing Damien Williams at pick 168 was just a bit of a stretch. Williams is owned on only a few rosters across all Yahoo! leagues.

Player Analysis

    • Antonio Brown, WR
    • Round 1, Pick 1
Death, Taxes, and Antonio Brown's Reliable Hands

Brown is projected to catch an NFL-leading 116 balls this year.

    • Frank Gore, RB
    • Round 2, Pick 28
    Gore is Hungry

And he'll get plenty of chances to feast this season, projected to rank 10th in the NFL with 289 touches.

    • Mark Ingram, RB
    • Round 3, Pick 29
    A Bit of a Reach

FantasyGuru-Hansen went out on a limb with their third-round pick. Across all Yahoo! leagues, Mark Ingram has an ADP of 39.2, but he was grabbed at pick No. 29. Patience is a virtue, FantasyGuru-Hansen.

    • Sammy Watkins, WR
    • Round 4, Pick 56
    Super Sammy

Watkins was just 18 yards shy from being the fourth rookie WR to notch 1,000 receiving yards last season (Beckham, Evans, Benjamin).

    • Greg Olsen, TE
    • Round 5, Pick 57
    Outstanding Olsen

Across all Yahoo! leagues, only one Tight End (Gronkowski) appeared on first-place rosters more often than Greg Olsen last year.

Best Available

FantasyGuru-Hansen has a couple positions they may look to upgrade (K and QB), but K is the area they'll want to focus their attention first.

    • Connor Barth
    • Rank 188, ADP 77
    • Matt Prater
    • Rank 215, ADP 117
    • Cody Parkey
    • Rank 221, ADP 137
    • Nick Folk
    • Rank 223, ADP 145

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
