Fly Boyz proved on draft day that when the lights come on, they perform, building a strong team capable of beating anyone on the schedule. They are expected to finish first in Kingdom of whoopings League with a record of 12-1-0 (3,776 points). With four WRs on the roster, Fly Boyz guaranteed the WR position was taken care of. Compared to the league average of 224, their WRs projected average of 216 points won't be much different than the rest of the wideouts around the league. They ended up with one of the worst groups of WRs in the league, as they have Julio Jones, Davante Adams, Pierre Garcon, and Markus Wheaton for their rotation.

While Week 5 has the most players on bye for Fly Boyz (four), Week 9 is actually projected to have the team's highest number of idle fantasy points. Based on their opponents' projected points, they have one of the softest slates. Fly Boyz has a chance to come out of the gate hot and close strong, as both the first four games and final four games of their season are projected to be less difficult than the league average.

Draft Notes

  • Separating the Wheat from the Chaff

At three different positions, Fly Boyz picked up projected top-two players (Eddie Lacy, Julio Jones, and Houston).

  • Risk Averse

Fly Boyz minimized risk by choosing nine consistent players among their 21 picks.

  • My One and Only

Ignoring roster depth, Fly Boyz chose only one player at four different positions (QB, TE, DEF, and K).

  • Beginning with a Bang

Fly Boyz got off to a sizzling start, amassing the most projected points in the league during the first half of the draft.

  • A DB Who Could Probably be a Linebacker

Reshad Jones ranks third among Safeties with 121 projected tackles.

  • Fly Boyz Went All YOLO Here

Grabbing Johnathan Cyprien at pick 105 was, let's say, conceptually adventurous. Cyprien is owned on just a few rosters across all Yahoo! leagues.

Player Analysis

    • Eddie Lacy, RB
    • Round 1, Pick 5
He's a Touchy, Feely Kind of Guy

With 329 touches, Eddie Lacy is projected to rank third in the NFL in that category. How touching, Fly Boyz.

    • Julio Jones, WR
    • Round 2, Pick 16
Fly Boyz Says 'Hello' to Julio

Jones was the lone NFL player to notch 30 catches of at least 20 yards last season, and only Odell Beckham, Jr. averaged more receiving yards per game in 2014.

    • Luke Kuechly, LB
    • Round 3, Pick 25
    Making the Big Tuna Proud

Bill Parcells once said "I like linebackers. I collect 'em. You can't have too many good ones." Well, Parcells would approve of Luke Kuechly. Among LBs in Kingdom of whoopings League, Luke Kuechly ranks first in projected tackles with 172.

    • Houston, DEF
    • Round 6, Pick 56
Was Defense the Best Choice at Pick No. 56?

Fly Boyz apparently thinks so. Houston's Defense is projected to earn 406 points this year, after putting up 442 last season.

    • M. Stafford, QB
    • Round 7, Pick 65
    Don't Go Chasing Waterfalls

By taking Matthew Stafford with the 65th overall pick, Fly Boyz should have shown more patience. According to the signal-caller's ADP of only 94.7 across all Yahoo! leagues, he could've been chosen later. TLC would disapprove.

Best Available

QB and WR are expected to be the weakest positions for Fly Boyz and a potential area of need.

    • Teddy Bridgewater
    • Rank 103, ADP 119
    • Carson Palmer
    • Rank 114, ADP 128
    • Nelson Agholor
    • Rank 78, ADP 105
    • Larry Fitzgerald
    • Rank 79, ADP 99

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
