Statistical Anomaly figures to be in the mix for a playoff spot all season, taking the sixth overall draft slot and turning it into a solid team that's expected to go 7-6-0 (1,619 points). With that record, they will likely finish fourth in Stampede Blue League 8 League. With their first five picks, Statistical Anomaly focused on a balanced offensive attack, selecting QB Matthew Stafford (54th overall), RBs Matt Forte (6th) and DeMarco Murray (19th), and WRs Victor Cruz (30th) and Andre Johnson (43rd). They landed the most prolific group of RBs in the league, as they added Forte, Murray, Pierre Thomas, and Danny Woodhead.

Statistical Anomaly can chalk up Week 10 as a big fat L. Their top three projected scorers (Matthew Stafford, Jay Cutler and Matt Forte) will be resting that weekend. Looking at the entire season, they have one of the least challenging slates. Along with the second-easiest overall schedule, both the first four games and last four games of the season are pretty average for Statistical Anomaly.

Draft Notes

  • Brett Favre is Just a Phone Call Away

It's likely that in Week 9, Statistical Anomaly will either be scraping the wire or begging for a trade (Matthew Stafford and Jay Cutler will both be on bye). You can give Favre a call, but texting him isn't recommended.

  • Asset Management

Statistical Anomaly is loaded at RB and QB. Could they be willing to leverage some of that talent and listen to trade offers from other teams in Stampede Blue League 8 League?

  • Aging Stars

The top half of the roster (from a projected points perspective) is relatively old (ranked No. 2 in the league with an average of 7.2 years of NFL experience), whereas the bottom half is fairly young (ranked No. 12 with 3.7 years).

  • Single-Bar Facemasks

Statistical Anomaly knows this is American football, right? They elected to go with two kickers, instead of stockpiling depth at other positions.

  • Team of Champions

Statistical Anomaly is rocking a team of fantasy MVPs. Last season, three of their players were among the top-20 players that were on the most first-place fantasy teams (Matt Forte, DeMarco Murray, and Matthew Stafford).

  • Big D

Statistical Anomaly elected to go with two DEFs instead of loading up at other spots.

Player Analysis

    • Matt Forte, RB
    • Round 1, Pick 6
    Does Matt Forte Enjoy Fajitas?

Because his all-purpose yardage figures are sizzling. Forte is projected to rank fourth in the league with 1,698 total yards.

    • DeMarco Murray, RB
    • Round 2, Pick 19
    Haters Gonna Hate

The rest of Stampede Blue League 8 League overlooked a gem, and Statistical Anomaly made the swaggiest pick of the round by grabbing DeMarco Murray.

    • Andre Johnson, WR
    • Round 4, Pick 43
Possession is Nine Tenths of the Law

Andre Johnson is expected to be a strong possession receiver this year, and his 87 projected catches rank eighth in the league.

    • M. Stafford, QB
    • Round 5, Pick 54
    Like a Prancing Unicorn

Matthew Stafford is a fantasy dream. He's projected to finish third in the NFL in both passing TDs (31.5) and passing yards (4,955).

    • Kyle Rudolph, TE
    • Round 6, Pick 67
Was the 67th Pick the Right Time for Kyle Rudolph?

Statistical Anomaly apparently believes it is. The Vikings' tight end is projected to improve to the tune of 162 points this year, after only putting up 79 last year.

Best Available

Statistical Anomaly has a couple positions they may look to upgrade (TE and DEF), but TE is the area they'll want to focus their attention first.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
