This season will be a blast for Jason's Team, who landed the top overall pick and then drafted a team capable of winning the whole damn thing. With a roster that has very few weaknesses, they are projected to finish in first place in Stampede Blue League 4 League with a mark of 12-1-0 (1,649 points). They didn't target any one position early, selecting QB Peyton Manning (1st overall), RB Zac Stacy (25th), WR Antonio Brown (24th), and TE Jason Witten (49th) within the first five rounds. They ended up with the best QB pair in the league, as they have Manning and Ryan Tannehill on the roster.

While Week 5 has the most players on bye for Jason's Team (three), Week 4 is actually projected to have the team's highest amount of idle fantasy points. Looking at the entire season, they have one of the easiest schedules. Along with the third-easiest overall schedule, both the first four games and last four games of the season are about league-average difficulty for Jason's Team.

Draft Notes

  • Get Off My Lawn

With an average of 7.9 years of NFL experience, Jason's Team is the oldest and by default, least exciting team in the league.

  • Team of Champions?

Jason's Team is fielding a team of fantasy MVPs. Last season, three of their players were among the top-20 players that were on the most championship rosters across all Yahoo! leagues: Peyton Manning, Antonio Brown, and Zac Stacy.

  • A Bit of a Reach

Jason's Team went out on a limb with their ninth-round pick. Across all Yahoo! leagues, Fred Jackson has an ADP of 117.5, but he was grabbed at pick No. 97. Patience is a virtue, Jason's Team.

  • Mr. Mendoza

LeGarrette Blount is owned in only 3% of all Yahoo! leagues. Let's hope that a.) Jason's Team has some solid inside information, or b.) he's a close friend of the family.

Player Analysis

    • Peyton Manning, QB
    • Round 1, Pick 1
    A Mile-High Marvel

By fantasy standards, Peyton Manning's second season in Denver was his strongest as an NFL QB. He was owned on more championship rosters across all Yahoo! leagues than any other quarterback.

    • Antonio Brown, WR
    • Round 2, Pick 24
    The Power of Persuasion

Now would be a reasonable time for Jason's Team to encourage the Stampede Blue League 4 League to raise the value of receptions. They snagged Antonio Brown and his 95 projected catches (ranked fourth in the NFL).

    • Zac Stacy, RB
    • Round 3, Pick 25
    If it Ain't Broke

Then do fix it? Laughing in the face of decades of fantasy tradition, Jason's Team didn't grab their first RB (Zac Stacy) until the third round.

    • Andre Johnson, WR
    • Round 4, Pick 48
On a Scale of 1 to America

How free will Andre Johnson get in the secondary this year? He's projected to reel in 1,172 receiving yards.

    • Jason Witten, TE
    • Round 5, Pick 49
A Tight End with Some Wheels

Jason Witten isn't just a threat in the red zone. With a projection of 871 yards through the air, he ranks third in the NFL among TEs in receiving yards.

Best Available

Jason's Team could potentially upgrade RB and TE, but RB is the position they'll want to focus on first.

    • Chris Ivory
    • Rank 122, ADP 124
    • BenJarvus Green-Ellis
    • Rank 188, ADP 118

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
