CT's Champion Team proved on draft day that when the lights come on, they perform, building a strong team capable of beating anyone on the schedule. They are expected to finish first in Stampede Blue League 3 League with a record of 11-2-0 (1,684 points). They clearly wanted to put together a wide receiver corps early, using three of their first five selections on Calvin Johnson (first round), Randall Cobb (third round), and Larry Fitzgerald (fourth round). If these guys can do what they're expected to do, CT's Champion Team will benefit. They are the top group of WRs in the league.

Week 10 might require some artful managing from CT's Champion Team, as their top two projected scorers (Tom Brady and Robert Griffin III) will be on bye that week. Based on their opponents' projected points, they have the easiest schedule. Along with having the easiest overall schedule, CT's Champion Team also has the league's easiest first four games and softest last four games of the season.

Draft Notes

  • On Autopilot

Choosing which WRs to start should be pretty obvious most weeks for CT's Champion Team, as projections show a healthy point difference between their third-ranked (Larry Fitzgerald) and fourth-ranked (Doug Baldwin) wideouts.

  • Asset Allocation

TE is the strongest position for CT's Champion Team, though WR and RB aren't too shabby either.

  • Drink Plenty of Milk

With an average of 7.6 years of NFL experience, CT's Champion Team has the greatest chance of losing a player to osteoporosis.

  • Was That Good for you, Stampede Blue League 3 League?

By racking up the most projected points in the league during both the first and second halves of the draft, CT's Champion Team established itself as a fantasy contender.

  • You Snooze, You Lose

While the rest of the league slept on Shayne Graham, CT's Champion Team pounced on him at pick No. 187.

  • Biggest Steal

If other Yahoo! users are right, CT's Champion Team got a steal in the ninth round, when they selected Robert Griffin III (102nd overall pick vs. ADP of 59.1).

Player Analysis

    • Calvin Johnson, WR
    • Round 1, Pick 6
    The Alchemist

CT's Champion Team chose the WR most likely to turn deep balls into TD gold. Calvin Johnson is projected to lead all NFL WRs in plays over 40 yards with 4.8 and TDs over 40 yards with 2.

    • Le'Veon Bell, RB
    • Round 2, Pick 19
Feel the Rhythm, Feel the Rhyme

Get on up, it's Le'Veon Bell time! He should run cool this season with 241 projected points.

    • Randall Cobb, WR
    • Round 3, Pick 30
    The Power of Persuasion

Now would be a reasonable time for CT's Champion Team to encourage the Stampede Blue League 3 League to raise the value of receptions. They snagged Randall Cobb and his 87 projected catches (ranked 10th in the NFL).

    • Rob Gronkowski, TE
    • Round 5, Pick 54
    Stolen In Broad Daylight

Rob Gronkowski was the best value pick of the round and could be the cause of many sleepless nights for the other managers.

    • Tom Brady, QB
    • Round 6, Pick 67
Do You Know if Tom Brady is Religious?

With 397 projected points, CT's Champion Team is hoping Brady will be the answer to their prayers.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
