Commish Notes

  • Hey guys,
Below is the list of keepers and the years they were kept. Remember players can be kept THREE times in a row and it does not matter by who. Once kept three years in a row they go back in the draft. The players kept in 14, 15, and 16 will go back in the draft next year. The players only kept for two years so far may be kept next year for a last time if desired. Questions, please ask, hopefully I got everything correct.

Each team keeps 3 players from their end of season roster of the previous season. These players are added to the roster prior to the opening of the draft. Players may be kept a maximum of three times, and then have to go back into the draft pool again so everyone may have a chance at them. If you draft someone or acquire them at some point in the season, you may have them on your team for another three seasons after this one, after that they would have to go back into the draft pool of players.

ROOKIE KEEPER: In addition to the THREE keepers, you may also keep ONE rookie player that does not count with the other three. This rookie player may be drafted or just acquired at some point in the season. You do not HAVE to keep a rookie, but they don’t count against your three. Rookie keepers will count as your last pick of the draft, so if you keep a rookie, you will not draft anyone in the last round.

Draft: Draft will be snake draft format. You will have to keep three players. The players will not affect your draft order or certain draft pick rounds, everyone will keep three players and draft at the same time and have the same number of picks in each round, unless draft picks are traded. Draft order will be determined by the results of the previous season.

League Fee is $55 ($50 toward regular payouts and $5 for side pot incentive)

INCENTIVE-$60/year will go toward this pot. The pot will keep rising, and in order to win this side pot, the winner will have to win THREE championships in this league. The current tally of championships is as follows:

2011-RRemsey (no longer in the league)
    2012-Daryl McLeese
2013-Kyle Waterworth (no longer in the league)
    2014-Luke Hoyt
    2015-Steve Myers
    2016-Gaylord Faulker

The pay outs are 1st place overall for the regular season gets $100, 2nd place overall for the regular season gets $50, highest point total for season gets $50, playoff winner gets $200, playoff second gets $100, playoff third gets $75, toilet bowl champion gets $25

Trade review: Most trades will be sent through without issue. The only reason a trade would be vetoed, is if a team was trying to dump players or something fishy was going on. There is a trade review of one day so if trades are left open they can't be sent through an hour before the games and leave one manager with holes in lineup.

Draft pick trades: Can be traded through Yahoo by selecting a pick to trade along with players or through email in offseason.

Playoffs will be six team playoff.

Draft Order is determined by the previous year’s Toilet Bowl finish for the 1st six picks, followed by reverse order of overall standings for picks seven through twelve.

The toilet bowl will be played by the six teams that do not make the playoffs. The Toilet Bowl matchups in week 1 are Team 7 vs team 12, team 8 vs team 11, and team 9 and 10. The results of the toilet bowl will determine the 1-6 draft order next year, with the winner getting the 1 pick, loser getting 6 pick, etc. Therefore, It is recommended to fight through the last few games.

Tiebreaks for point totals will be head to head matchup. Tiebreaks for overall season leader will be point total, and then head to head.

    Fair Play:

We have had some issues in the past with managers failing to fill roster spots for games. I understand how things get busy sometimes and a player with a bye stays in or someone gets left on the bench from time to time. I belong to several leagues myself and have had difficulty keeping up sometimes.

Also, sometimes managers make stupid moves and there is not a hard and fast rule that can make people make the most intelligent decisions. I would like to state that it is in the best interest of everyone in the league if all managers make their best decisions to make their lineups competitive. When lineups are left partially unfilled it gives other teams advantages and the likelihood of winning and then that's possibly another team that ends up in the playoffs or the team receives some other edge in the future it should not have.

If in the future a final lineup contains more than one inactive player or player on a bye, that team will get ONE warning, and then if it happens again, their team will be essentially frozen and then the manager will not be asked back the following year.

If there are questions or concerns, let me know, but I have received feedback from many and this has happened a couple of times in previous years s
