    WELCOME BACK TO THE 2015 RUN RUN PASS PUNT KEEPER LEAGUE! Great to have all of you back, well actually...almost all of you! Paul Perry has left the league under his own terms, and I have been fortunate enough to replace him with TJ Heyder - son of Danny and nephew of John. I have played with TJ in other leagues, and he's a smart, well rounded player who will add tremendously to the makeup of the league (while also lowering our average age back into something a bit more respectable!). Feel free to welcome TJ to the fraternity!

    Now it's time to talk about LEAGUE SETTINGS. Overall I'm not expecting to change much of anything from last year. However, I would like to address an issue that caused some major heat with me last year in the way we currently trade Draft Picks. I thought this was great, and I thought it would work really well with everybody...but, unlike baseball that has a longer draft and individual draft picks usually offer less certainty with who you get, the football picks can have an impact that hurts the league. I made a trade last year sending my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd picks to one single team, in return I got three "keeper worthy" players. I was told, in somewhat colorful language in a few cases, that I just ruined the league for two straight years. I understand why everybody would think that on paper, even though in fact I missed the playoffs and have royally screwed myself for 2015. But what I don't want to see happen is that the rest of the players in the league have bad feelings towards this type of deal, because we all want to play here and compete to win - but mostly for a lot of us we do this to HAVE FUN. And I was told, again with a few choice words that cannot be repeated, that I was killing the fun. THAT IS THE ONE THING I WILL NOT ALLOW! So if I killed the fun, how can we fix it? Well, that is up to all of you! Please post here on the board OR email me privately some ways you would want to change the trading of Draft Picks. We can do a lot of things on paper, from the easy (do nothing or eliminate them completely), to the complex (nobody can trade two picks in a row, nobody can trade their first round pick, nobody can trade more than 'x' number of picks, etc.). But I don't want to just paint this with my Commish stroke - I want to hear from you so that I do this the right way! As the Commish, I want to do what's right with everybody's best interest in mind. As a pretty good player in this league, I can tell you that I don't care one way or another what happens...I only plan on voting to break a tie. My personal feelings "as a player" are that I don't care one way or another because I had just as much fun playing before we ever had draft pick trades as I have since we got them. So I can go either way.

    If anybody has any other thoughts about league policies and procedures, scoring and settings, or if you want to impeach the Commish, let's hear from all of you. Football starts approximately two months from this week, and our keepers will be due around the week of August 23-29. I will announce all of that when I get the league set up to draft, which will be sometime this week.
