Hey Folks, welcome back to year 20 of our fantasy league. The draft date has been set for Labor Day, September 4th at 9 PM Eastern time. I just wanted to update everyone on a few changes to the league this year.
You'll notice that I have functionally converted one of the bench spots to a starter spot. This is to prevent folks from sitting on players and promote active team management. To further encourage add/drops and trades, I have removed trade reviews - the moment you hit accept, the trade will process immediately. To accommodate the increased reliance on trades as a team management tool, the trade period has been extended to December 2nd, the last date offered in Yahoo.
Keep this new roster change in mind as you draft. Pay close attention to bye weeks and try to properly weigh "stash potential" against the likelihood that you'll have to be able to slot in that bench stash in your lineup. Those of you that like to draft 3 QBs will now have to contend with decreased flexibility elsewhere unless you open up to trades.
Ultimately, I hope this change encourages you all to interact more frequently with your league mates. Fantasy football isn't just a distraction for us; it's a way to maintain connections with friends spanning over two decades. Please use this as an opportunity to cajole, lowball, and otherwise lightly harass each other in pursuit of victory. Good luck!
