What's the scoop for the draft?

We are only 3 1/2 weeks away from the draft. Please remember that dues of $150 need to be paid prior to the draft. Money can be sent to my wifes paypal address at all4fairydust@yahoo.com Please send me an email and let me know when it is sent so I know to look for it. Since half the league will be moving on from MHS this would be the best way to collect and distribute money at the end of the season.

We the People
Of the Menwith Hill Fantasy Football League exist in order to play fantasy sports and add an extra element of fun to our lives by talking smack and taking each other’s money, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the Menwith Hill Fantasy Football League.

Article 1
The Menwith Hill Fantasy Football League consists of 14 owners and each franchise costs $150.00. This needs to be paid in full “prior” to the draft. For the 2013 season, these owners are Steve Wilson, Brian Broz, Thomas Allen, Kyler Elder, Brian Cook, Mike Fleming, Matt Adams, John Orth, Darnel Adams, Shawn Alexander, Justin Wheeler, Paul Lobre, Trevor Blackburn, and Bill Howard.

Article 2

Each team in the Menwith Hill Fantasy Football League will have 18 players on its roster, coming from any team in the National Football League as defined by Yahoo Sports.

Article 3

Every year, the Menwith Hill Fantasy Football League will hold its annual draft. This year the draft will be held on-line; Date/Time is TBD. A draft order will selected at random with a majority of the team owners present. During the snake-draft, each team in turn will select players until its roster is complete. At the start of the next season, all teams will return non-keepers back into the available player pool. The 2013 draft order is specified in Article 10.

Article 4

Each team in the Menwith Hill Fantasy Football League shall set its starting lineup each week. A starting lineup consists of (1) quarterback, (2) running backs, (2) wide receivers, (1) tight end, (1) flex player (RB/WR/TE), (1) kicker, (1) defensive back, (1) defensive lineman, and (2) defensive players. Each week, two opponents will play head-to-head. The team with the most points wins the week. Each team will have one Injured Reserve (IR) spot on their bench for players officially placed on the IR. The IR spot will not count against the team’s 18 roster spots. If an IR player is dropped from a roster, that owner loses any keeper claim with that player. Once your team is eliminated from the playoffs, you will not be able to add/drop any players.

Article 5

Teams in the Menwith Hill Fantasy Football League can make trades until the trade deadline as defined by Yahoo Sports. After that, no trades will be allowed. Trades will be accepted or rejected by the league commissioner. In the event that the league commissioner is involved in the trade, the accept/reject responsibility defaults to the co-commissioner. In the event that commissioner and co-commissioner are involved in the trade, the accept/reject responsibility is put to a league vote. In this scenario, the majority will decide. Teams may drop a player from their roster at any time and replace him with any player who is not on another owner's team. Owner who wish to drop players on the Yahoo cannot drop list, must contact the commissioner for ruling.

Article 6

If an owner decides he/she no longer wants to participate in the Menwith Hill Fantasy Football League, that owner must notify the commissioner. The owner is encouraged to nominate a potential replacement owner, but the league is under no obligation to accept said nomination. Any new owner must be voted into place by a majority of the remaining owners in the league. Additionally, any owner who demonstrates continued inactivity, intentionally breaks league rules or misses deadlines may be subject to removal from the league by a unanimous league vote. Examples of behavior that may result in such a review include, but are not limited to: consistent failure to set lineups or replace injured players, participating in trades that prove to be collusive in nature, or ignoring or otherwise not responding to league correspondence in a reasonable amount of time. Owners are not allowed to exchange money for players. Penalty will include removal of both teams from league and forfeiture of dues paid.

Article 7

Keeper rules:
2013: At the end of each season, on a determined date, each owner will announce up to 3 keeper players from their end of season roster. One keeper can be from the first three rounds, the second keeper is from the fourth round or later. These keepers can be kept without penalty. If a third keeper is kept, it must come from the fourth round or later and the owner will lose his fourth round pick. If the owner has traded his fourth round pick, that owner will lose their third round pick.
2014 and Beyond: At the end of the 2013 season, each owner will announce up to 3 keepers players from their end of season roster. Owners will lose the round the player was drafted in and the player’s value will increase one round each year (this is based off of their original draft position and not retroactive). (Example: If a player was drafted in the 3rd round in 2012, if an owner keeps the said player, the owner will lose his 2nd round pick in 2014. If that owner chooses to keep the player again the following year, it will cost the owner their 1s
