  • Carson Wentz underwent laser eye surgery
Carson Wentz underwent laser eye surgery this offseason.

Advice: The procedure is supposed to get you to 20/20 vision. Fixing his eyes and working on his footwork, Wentz is getting his early-season narratives in order early. Rotoworld.com Today, 11:13 am

  • Bridgewater deal would toll to 2018 if on PUP
Updating a previous item, Teddy Bridgewater's (knee) contract would toll to 2018 if he spends all of this season on reserve/PUP.

Advice: With this information, it makes all the sense in the world for the Vikings to stash Bridgewater on PUP, let him rehab, and then revisit the situation in 2018 when Sam Bradford is scheduled to be a free agent. A lot will happen between now and then, but it sounds like Bridgewater won't hit free agency next March. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 12:07 pm

  • Vikings, Bradford have yet to talk extension
Contract-year QB Sam Bradford has yet to have extension talks with the Vikings.

Advice: Bradford is due $17 million between salary and bonuses in what will be his age-30 season. Bradford stayed healthy last year, setting some fraudulent records in the process, but didn't elevate his offense. He's not the long-term answer in Minnesota anymore than he was in Philadelphia or St. Louis. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 11:05 am

  • Free agent Cutler not considering retirement
Free agent Jay Cutler's player rep says he's not considering retirement.

Advice: "Jay wants to play football," were the words of Bus Cook. "He never has mentioned retirement to me. Jay Cutler, as far as I know, is ready to play and wants to play, and his skill set is as good as any quarterback in the league." Cook, who represented Brett Favre, certainly knows retiring quarterbacks. It's a good time for Cutler to get the message out, as he will be an option for teams that miss out/select a project in this week's draft. The Texans would be Cutler's best-case scenario, but there's been no indication they're considering the longtime Bear. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 10:16 am

  • Report: Bengals want 1st for A.J. McCarron
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Bengals want a first-round pick "at least" for A.J. McCarron.

Advice: In other words, the Bengals do not want to trade A.J. McCarron. Scheduled to be a restricted free agent (pending arbitration) after this season, McCarron is under cheap team control for the next two years, so the Bengals have zero incentive to move him for anything less than their price. He will sit behind Andy Dalton for at least another season. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 6:48 am
