  • Traded to Denver
The Jets are trading Wilson to the Broncos for a late-round pick swap, Jeff Howe of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The Jets will give up the 256th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and receive pick No. 203. They'll also hold some of Wilson's salary, with the 24-year-old scheduled for $5.45 million in guaranteed compensation for the final year of his rookie contract. This could give Wilson a shot to compete for a starting job, depending on what the Broncos do in the upcoming draft. Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci are the other QBs on Denver's roster, with Stidham the favorite to start Week 1 if no early draft pick is added to the room. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:45 am

  • Dak hasn’t had contract negotiations with Cowboys
Dak Prescott said he and the Cowboys have not begun negotiations for a new contract extension.

Advice: Prescott is in the final year of his current deal and is currently set to earn $55.455 million in 2024. While Prescott would be more than happy to take home that large sum of cash this season, his contract, as it stands right now, is leaving the Cowboys strapped for cash with extensions for other players — particularly CeeDee Lamb — coming down the line. Prescott said he doesn’t “necessarily” want to be the highest-paid quarterback in the league, and that he wants to do what’s best for the team. If he and the team are able to hammer out an extension, it would almost certainly lower his 2024 cap number and free the Cowboys up to get other deals done. Rotoworld Friday, 4:28 pm

  • Jaguars still working on extension with Lawrence
Jaguars GM Trent Baalke said the team is still working toward a contract extension with Trevor Lawrence.

Advice: Baalke said the team is trying “not to force anything” but acknowledged that he spoke recently with Lawrence’s agent. Lawrence is heading into the fourth year of his rookie deal and will presumably have his fifth year exercised later this offseason. Lawrence has thrown for 11,770-58-39 through his first three seasons in the league, going 20-30 in his first 50 starts and 17-16 in a post-Urban Meyer world. He led the Jaguars to the playoffs in 2022 and led them to an inspiring comeback win over the Chargers in his first playoff game. It seems apparent at this point that both sides hope to get a deal done but with essentially two years left on his rookie contract, it’s no surprise that neither is rushing to get a deal done. • Berry: Watson (shoulder) ‘in a pretty good spot’
Browns GM Andrew Berry said Deshaun Watson is “in a pretty good spot” with his recovery from shoulder surgery.

Advice: Berry said Watson has been throwing passes up to 40 yards and is “progressing as appropriate.” The team isn’t ready to guarantee Watson will be ready to go come Week 1 — despite him asserting he would be ready at that time — but every offseason report concerning his shoulder has been positive thus far. Berry’s comments echo what head coach Kevin Stefanski said earlier in the week regarding Watson’s shoulder, as both have expressed confidence in the plan the team has in place to get him on the field in time for the start of the season. • Wolfe: Dolphins could target O-lineman in draft
ESPN’s Cameron Wolfe believes the Dolphins could take an offensive lineman in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Advice: Miami has just two picks inside the top 150 in the upcoming draft, and Wolfe suggests the team could take an offensive lineman to protect Tua Tagovailoa. Wolfe said the Dolphins could target Oklahoma OT Tyler Guyton, who met with the team on Monday. Guyton played right tackle at Oklahoma, protecting the blindside of left-handed QB Dillon Gabriel. He should have positional flexibility in the NFL. It would be a somewhat curious use of draft capital; no quarterback in 2023 faced a lower pressure rate than Tagovailoa, who was sacked on a meager 4.7 percent of his drop backs.
