• Still managing soreness
Richardson took a rest day at practice Thursday due to shoulder soreness, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Coach Shane Steichen said "there's nothing to worry about," per Boyd, and that Richardson would be in line to play were the Colts preparing for a game-scenario this weekend. Steichen added that Richardson had his shoulder checked Thursday morning, and it was confirmed that the quarterback is only dealing with soreness in his surgically repaired right shoulder. Richardson has been participating in 11-on-11 drills and throwing throughout OTAs, and some soreness as he ramps up his practice activities is to be expected. He remains on track to be full strength for the start of training camp late July. Rotowire.com Thursday, 9:48 am

  • Anthony Richardson dealing with shoulder soreness
Colts HC Shane Steichen said Anthony Richardson is dealing with some soreness in his right shoulder.

Advice: Richardson was spotted participating in team drills but was noticeably throwing with his left hand rather than his right. Steichen downplayed the severity of the soreness Richardson is dealing with, saying the second-year quarterback still feels well enough to play in a game if it were that time of year. Richardson’s shoulder will remain a hot topic of conversation throughout the offseason after he played in just four games last year. Richardson’s ceiling for this upcoming fantasy season is as high as that of any quarterback in the league after he averaged an impressive 27.4 fantasy points per game in the two games he appeared in start-to-finish. • Impresses offensive coordinator
Patriots offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt said Tuesday that Maye has made a good early impression during voluntary workouts,Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: Van Pelt's comments came before Tuesday's session, when Maye took snaps as the No. 2 quarterback behind Jacoby Brissett after having previously been third in the pecking order. Meanwhile, Van Pelt reiterated that Brissett is viewed as the team's top signal-caller at this stage, adding that there's no timetable for when Maye -- the No. 3 overall pick in April's draft -- might ascend to the top of the depth chart. • Could return next week
Thompson-Robinson (hip) had an MRI earlier in the week that showed encouraging results, Brad Stainbrook of 247Sports.com reports.

Advice: The UCLA product suffered a hip subluxation during the Browns' Week 15 win over the Texans and missed the rest of his rookie season. With his MRI indicating that Thompson-Robinson hasn't experienced any setbacks in his recovery from the hip injury, he could be close to returning to full activities. If his body responds well to an increased workload in practice this week, Thompson-Robinson could be cleared for Cleveland's mandatory minicamp, which begins next Monday. Once he's back to full health, Thompson-Robinson will compete with Jameis Winston and Tyler Huntley for the top backup role behind Deshaun Watson (shoulder). Rotowire.com Wednesday, 2:25 pm

  • Seeking contract update
Stafford has been in attendance for the Rams' voluntary workouts all offseason, but the quarterback remains hopeful to have more guaranteed money added to the final two years of his contract ahead of the 2024 season, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.

Advice: The 36-year-old has three years remaining on his contract but no guarantees beyond 2024. He's been involved with the Rams throughout the offseason, leading an offense that will return all but one starter (center Coleman Shelton) from 2023. Guard Jonah Jackson and tight end Colby Parkinson were the big offseason additions, with the former allowing Steve Avila to slide over to center and the latter likely replacing Tyler Higbee (knee) as a starter early in the season. Stafford apparently intends to play at least a few more years and will have wideouts Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp as his primary targets for the foreseeable future. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:23 am

  • Says he's almost 100 percent
Richardson said Monday that his right shoulder is at about "95 percent" strength, per ESPN's Pat McAfee Show.

Advice: Richardson has been throwing in OTAs, including 11-on-11 drills, though he mentioned May 22 that there were still some days when his surgically repaired shoulder felt "a little achy." He seems to have avoided any major setbacks after October surgery and should be back to full strength without any restrictions for the start of training camp in late July. Richardson is often the fifth or sixth QB taken in early fantasy drafts, offering an unprecedented combination of size (6-foot-4, 244), speed (4.43 40) and arm strength. He had four rushing touchdowns and three passing scores on 173 snaps last year, playing two full games and less than half of two others. Rotowire.com Monday, 12:17 pm

  • A-Rich: ‘I’m at about 95 percent right now’
Speaking on the Pat McAfee Show, Anthony Richardson said, “I’m at about 95 percent right now” when asked about his shoulder.

Advice: Richardson has been participating in OTAs and was reported back in April to be throwing nearly 40 passes per day. The Colts franchise quarterback continues to work his way back from a shoulder surgery that ended his 2023 campaign just five weeks into the season and is going to be counted on in a big way for the Colts in 2024. Richardson threw for 577-3-1 in the four games he appeared in last season while adding another 25-136-4 on the ground. The 6-foot-4, 244-pound phenom has already gone on record saying he doesn’t plan on changing up his playing style and said on the Pat McAfee Show that “some of the stuff that happened [last year] just happened,” seemingly chalking last year’s misfortunes up to bad luck. While there could be an argument for that, Richardson’s physical style of play will likely continue to cause concern for football fans and fantasy managers alike. However, his sky-high ceiling was on display at various points last season, which has resulted in fantasy managers taking him in the fourth/fifth rounds of fantasy drafts for much of the offseason. • Dominating first-team reps
Brissett has taken all the first-team reps during open practices, Chad Graff of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Third overall pick Drake Maye presumably will have a chance to win the Week 1 starting job, but he may have to wait until training camp to get any reps with the first-team offense. Graff notes that Brissett runs the offense smoothly, having previously worked with offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt when both were with the Browns in 2022. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:14 am

  • Makes switch to wideout
Baltimore officially listed Cunningham as a wide receiver during OTAs, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.

Advice: Cunningham has gotten reps at wide receiver since the Ravens brought him on board back in December, and his transition to the new position (from quarterback) is now officially complete. He's part of a relatively thin wide receiver room, so he could very well find his way onto Baltimore's final 2024 roster if he impresses during training camp. Rotowire.com Thursday, 1:11 pm
