  • Jeff Janis (quad) upgraded to 'full' Thursday
Jeff Janis (quad) was upgraded to "full" in Thursday's practice.

Advice: Janis has fallen behind Trevor Davis on the depth chart, but with Jordy Nelson (ribs), Davante Adams (ankle) and Geronimo Allison (hamstring) all banged up, he could be needed for important snaps against the Falcons. Rotoworld.com 40 minutes ago

  • Davante Adams won't guarantee he will play
Davante Adams (ankle) won't guarantee his status for the NFC Championship Game.

Advice: Adams says the issue isn't as debilitating as his 2015 ankle injury, but that he won't know his status until the weekend. Adams is expected to test his ankle on Saturday. He's yet to practice, and will be held out on Friday, as well. If Adams suits up against the Falcons, he'll almost certainly be on a snap count. With Jordy Nelson (ribs) and Geronimo Allison (hamstring) also banged up, the Packers are going to need contributions from Randall Cobb, Trevor Davis and Jeff Janis. Rotoworld.com 56 minutes ago

Jordy Nelson (ribs) participated without pads in Thursday's practice.

Advice: It means he hasn't been cleared for contact. He remained "limited" on the injury report, which has him ahead of Davante Adams (ankle) and Geronimo Allison (hamstring). Coach Mike McCarthy indicated Thursday that both Adams and Allison will likely suit up against the Falcons. Nelson's status isn't clear, but he's certainly giving himself a shot to be active for the biggest game of the season. If Nelson does play, he obviously won't be in for his usual complement of snaps. Speaking Thursday, Packers coach Mike McCarthy said injured receivers Davante Adams (ankle), Jordy Nelson (ribs) and Geronimo Allison (hamstring) probably wouldn't play Sunday if it were the regular season.

Advice: Neither Adams nor Allison practiced on Thursday, and aren't expected to do so until Saturday's walk-through. McCarthy's comments indicated all three players will play, but none of them are anywhere close to 100 percent. It could be a problem in a game where the Pack will have to score all afternoon to keep up. Randall Cobb is shaping up as a nice DFS play. • Joe Flacco happy Marty Mornhinweg is back
Joe Flacco said he is happy the Ravens retained OC Marty Mornhinweg.

Advice: Flacco said the offense was too "conservative" in November, but it does not sound like he puts all of the blame at Mornhinweg's feet. "I think the other thing you have to realize is that a lot of what we’ve been doing isn’t necessarily his offense," Flacco said. "I think this offseason will be a big point for him to get a lot of the stuff that he’s comfortable running. He and I can work through that stuff together. I think that’s the biggest thing." • Peterson interested in Texans, Bucs, Giants
Adrian Peterson said he is interested in playing for the Texans, Bucs, and Giants.

Advice: Peterson is still under contract with the Vikings, but there seems to be little hope he remains with the team next season. Owed $18 million in salary and bonuses including a $6 million roster bonus due on March 11, there is also little chance any team trades for the aging star. That means Peterson should have his pick of the litter once he is released, but none of these teams are viable options right now. The Texans just spent a lot of money on Lamar Miller, and Peterson is not a good fit in the Giants' shotgun-heavy attack. The Bucs could be an option if they decide to move on from Doug Martin, but Peterson is not a better player than Martin at this point in his career and might end up costing more. Along with Tony Romo, Peterson's search for a new team will be one of the biggest storylines this offseason. Rotoworld.com Today, 9:09 am

Advice: "He’s very dynamic," Lynn said. "He took his game to another level, and we’re going to help him take it even further." Lynn wants to run a "balanced" offense, which is not surprising considering his history as a running backs coach. Lynn has been involved in seven 1,000-yard seasons in his 14 years as an RBs coach or offensive coordinator including LeSean McCoy's 1,267-yard effort in 2016. Luck did not miss any games, but he was consistently limited in practice. • Davante Adams injury said to be severe
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel describes Davante Adams' ankle injury as similar to the injury he tried playing through last year.

Advice: A high ankle sprain was at least partially to blame for Adams' disappointing sophomore campaign, from which he rebounded to rank second in the NFL in touchdown catches (12) this season behind only teammate Jordy Nelson (14). Per the Journal-Sentinel, Adams "is going to have to prove he can be an effective player in order to be cleared" for the NFC Championship Game. • Falcons limit Taylor Gabriel in practice
Taylor Gabriel (foot) was limited at Wednesday's practice.

Advice: Gabriel returned for the Divisional Round after sitting out the regular season finale, catching 4-of-6 targets for 71 yards. The Falcons are limiting his reps ahead of Sunday's NFC Championship.Daily Slant: Per Mike Clay, the Packers have allowed the most FPPG to WRs who line up on the right side of the field, something that bodes particularly well for Taylor Gabriel. The speedy receiver lines up on the right side about half the time, with Julio Jones running roughly a third of his routes out of that spot. It's possible that the Packers use LaDarius Gunter to shadow Jones, but that would even further increase the appeal of Gabriel. On the other side of this match-up, the Falcons have allowed the 2nd most FPPG to slot receivers, so Randall Cobb becomes very intriguing if Jordy Nelson sits. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 1:30 pm

Adams hurt his ankle late in the Divisional Round win over the Cowboys and had to be helped to the sideline before returning. Of course, that would require the Packers to beat a Dallas team they already lost to once this season. He caught six passes for 67 yards and a touchdown before going down, winning matchups with Richard Sherman. FOX's Pam Oliver deemed Jones' departure precautionary, but it's a huge storyline to watch ahead of next Sunday's NFC Championship Game. • Pats list Malcolm Mitchell as questionable
Malcolm Mitchell (knee) is listed as questionable for Week 19 against the Texans.

Advice: Late-week indications were that Mitchell was unlikely to play in the Divisional Round, and we'd lean toward expecting him to be among New England's inactives. The Patriots' active wideouts should be Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan, Michael Floyd, and Danny Amendola. Daily Slant: The Patriots receivers - especially the secondary options - are tough to peg this week. Edelman is by far the safest, as he's averaged 12.6 targets over the last seven games. Hogan and Floyd would be in play for tournaments, as both have big play ability. Floyd posted a 3/36/1 line in place of Mitchell in Week 17 and displayed some serious blocking skills that could earn him extra playing time. New England plays the prime-time game on Saturday night, so it's definitely possible we find out Mitchell's status prior to lock. Rotoworld.com Friday, 12:42 pm

  • Jordy Nelson ruled out for Divisional Round
Jordy Nelson (ribs) has been ruled out for Sunday night's Divisional Round game against the Cowboys.

Advice: As expected. Nelson hasn't practiced at all this week and is dealing with multiple rib fractures. He'll be reevaluated next week if the Packers advance to the NFC title game. Geronimo Allison will handle No. 3 receiver duties, and more will be asked of Davante Adams out wide and Randall Cobb inside. Daily Slant: Aaron Rodgers' production suffered last year without Nelson, he averaged 239.6 yards and 1.94 touchdowns per game. Across the 2014 and 2016 seasons, when Nelson played every week, Rodgers threw for 273.8 yards and 2.44 scores. However, Davante Adams improved tremendously this season; he caught 12 touchdowns this year after scoring just once 2015. This should help prevent a similar dip in Rodgers’ production, but it may be worth pivoting to a cheaper option like Matt Ryan, who has a healthy receiving corps and the best offense in the game. • Malcolm Mitchell to be inactive against HOU?
Ex-Patriots employee Mike Lombardi said on this week's Bill Simmons Podcast that he believes Malcolm Mitchell will be inactive for Saturday night's Divisional Round game versus the Texans.

Advice: Lombardi was very possibly just guessing, but he said fairly confidently that Mitchell probably wouldn't play and would be replaced by Michael Floyd. Mitchell did miss Week 17 with a knee injury and has only practiced on a "limited" basis this week. Floyd made two big plays in Mitchell's absence and has earned at least a part-time role. With Danny Amendola (ankle) also due back and Julian Edelman and Chris Hogan all systems go, the Patriots suddenly have a wide receiver quagmire of which someone will inevitably get left out. • Malcolm Mitchell (knee) limited again Thursday
Malcolm Mitchell (knee) remained limited at Thursday's practice.

Advice: He'll likely draw the questionable tag, but should be good to go against Houston. Mitchell had a quiet finish to the season after a nice run in late-Nov./early-Dec. New England should have its full complement of receivers Saturday with Mitchell and Danny Amendola (ankle) both slated to play. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 1:42 pm

  • Jeff Janis (quad) back at practice Thursday
Jeff Janis (quad) returned to practice on Thursday.

Advice: He was wearing full pads at the start of practice but was still listed as a limited participant. Either way, it's a good sign for his availability Sunday against Dallas. With Jordy Nelson (broken ribs) likely sidelined, Janis will be needed for a bigger role, but still a distant fourth on the depth chart. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 10:49 am

  • James Starks (concussion) still not practicing
James Starks (concussion) remained sidelined at Thursday's practice.

Advice: Starks doesn't seem to have made any noticeable progress since suffering a concussion last month. Extreme long-shot Jordy Nelson (ribs) has a better chance of playing than Starks this week. Green Bay's backfield work will again be dominated by Ty Montgomery and Christine Michael Sunday at Dallas. • Jordy Nelson (ribs) not practicing Thursday
Jordy Nelson (broken ribs) remained sidelined at Thursday's practice.

Advice: This is not a surprise, as Nelson is expected to remain with the rehab group through Friday. It's looking like it would take a miracle for Nelson to suit up against the Cowboys on Sunday, and even if he does play, he'd almost certainly be a decoy. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 10:41 am

  • Jeff Janis dealing with quad, should practice
Packers coach Mike McCarthy expects Jeff Janis (quad) to get in some work in Thursday's practice.

Advice: "I'm hoping he'll do a little bit today," McCarthy said. Janis sat out Wednesday's session after picking up a quad injury in the Wild Card win. With Jordy Nelson (ribs) extremely unlikely to play, Janis should have a bigger role on offense if he is able to suit up. He is also an key member of the Packers' special teams unit. • Rodgers makes it sound like Nelson will sit
Aaron Rodgers made it sound like Jordy Nelson (ribs) is going to miss Sunday's Divisional Round matchup with the Cowboys.

Advice: "We're going to try to get this one and hopefully get him back if he can't play this week," Rodgers said. The quarterback threw in the "if he can't play this week" at the end, but it is pretty clear the Packers are preparing as if Nelson will not suit up. Coach Mike McCarthy has left open the door for Nelson to play if he can participate in the walkthrough on Saturday. That seems unlikely, however, meaning both Geronimo Allison and Jeff Janis should play bigger roles on offense this week. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 6:39 am

  • Julio Jones (toe) practicing fully this week
Julio Jones (toe) is practicing fully for the Divisional Round.

Advice: Jones should be close to 100 percent coming off Atlanta's bye. He doesn't have a great matchup but is still a strong DFS play. Jones had a 7/139/1 line against Seattle back in Week 6. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 2:14 pm

  • Malcolm Mitchell (knee) limited Wednesday
Malcolm Mitchell (knee) was limited at Wednesday's practice.

  • Geronimo Allison facing marijuana charges
Packers WR Geronimo Allison is facing marijuana charges stemming from a September arrest.

Advice: Arrested in September, Allison was charged in December. He has a court date later this month. It's unclear if any of this is news to the Packers, but it's unlikely. With Jordy Nelson (ribs) banged up, Allison will probably be Green Bay's No. 3 receiver for the Divisional Round. He had a productive final few weeks of the regular season with Randall Cobb sidelined. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 3:03 pm

  • Ravens owner: We need Joe Flacco to be better
Speaking about Joe Flacco on Tuesday, Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti said "we need more out of Joe."

Advice: "I think Joe would agree with that," Bisciotti helpfully added. Coming back from a torn ACL, Flacco actually threw for a career-high 4,317 yards in 2016, but only because he was forced to dial up an absurd 672 attempts. That's not Ravens football. Flacco struggled mightily to make big plays, and averaged a woeful 6.42 yards per attempt. The first year back from a torn ACL can be tough for a quarterback — even Tom Brady wasn't quite himself in 2009 — but days shy of his 32nd birthday, Flacco will be on the spot to be better next season.
